We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our Risk Aggregation Data team. This role demands a unique blend of deep technical expertise in modern data engineering technologies and a strong understanding of financial domain processes and priorities. You’ll play a critical role in designing scalable data infrastructure and delivering high-impact solutions that support our finance, risk and compliance operations.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build and maintain robust, scalable, and secure data pipelines for financial systems and reporting platforms.Develop and optimize ETL/ELT workflows, ensuring quality, accuracy, and performance.Architect and manage data models that support risk reporting and regulatory compliance.Collaborate with stakeholders across Finance, Risk, and Technology to translate business requirements into technical specifications.Leverage modern data platforms (cloud-based and on-prem) to implement data ingestion, orchestration, lineage, and governance solutions.Work with Data Governance and Security teams to ensure compliance with Risk Data privacy and security standards.Mentor junior engineers working across multiple time-zones and contribute to best practices in code quality, data architecture, and system design.Troubleshoot production data pipelines and systems, ensuring high availability and reliability.Requirements
8+ years of data engineering experience, ideally in finance, fintech or enterprise data environmentsExpert in SQL and proficient in either Java/Scala/PythonExperience in modern data platforms such as :Cloud :- AWS / Azure / GoogleOrchestration :- Custom models, Airflow, Camunda, etcProcessing :- Kafka, Spark, Java, PythonWarehousing :- Greenplum, Oracle, Snowflake, DatabricksStrong understanding of Data Modelling principles – Dimensional and Big DataExperience with CI/CD, version control (GIT)Domain Knowledge
Solid Grasp Investment Banking and Risk conceptsAbility to collaborate with Finance and Risk teams, and understand the impact of data on financial decision makingSoft Skills

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150,000 and $210,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs
