Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Modeller to join our dynamic team at a leading global insurance company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex data models that support our business objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of data architecture, data integration, and data governance principles.
The Senior Data Modeller will work closely with various departments, including Underwriting, Claims, and IT, to ensure that data models are aligned with business needs and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop data models that support business processes and decision-making.Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into data models.Maintain and update existing data models to reflect changes in business requirements.Ensure data models are scalable, maintainable, and meet performance requirements.Develop and enforce data modelling standards and best practices.Provide guidance and mentorship to other team members.Work closely with IT and other departments to ensure data models are properly implemented and maintained.Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in data modelling and data management.Implement data integration solutions to consolidate data from various sources.Skills and Experience Specification:
Essential
Minimum of 5 years of experience in data modelling, data architecture, or a related field.Previous commercial insurance experience, including Lloyd’s or London Market.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both technical and business stakeholders.Experience working with and implementing ACORD standards and data models.Strong understanding of data modelling principles, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models.Proficiency in data modelling tools such as Erwin DM, PowerDesigner, or similar.Experience with data integration tools and techniques.Experience of designing data product models.Experience and knowledge of delivering innovative enterprise data management frameworks e.g. Data Mesh (or equivalent).Knowledge of on premise and cloud database management systems, including SQL Server, Oracle, Azure and Snowflake.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and as part of an agile team.Demonstrate a good understanding of Data / Information governance principles and familiarity with processes and policies.Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements such as GDPR, IFRS17, Solvency II.A willingness to mentor and share previous experience and skills with the wider Data Office.Desirable
