We are seeking a Senior Data Modeller with experience in banking and credit risk strategy development, product analytics, machine learning model development, and strategy reporting enhancements. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in driving our data initiatives, optimizing our credit risk processes, and enhancing our product analytics capabilities.
This is a Hybrid position based out of Atlantic Canada. One needs to be based or must be willing to relocate to anywhere in Atlantic Canada (NS or NB or NL or PEI)
• Credit Risk Strategy Development: Design and implement robust credit risk models that support the development of effective risk management strategies and product offerings.
• Machine Learning Model Development: Develop and deploy machine learning models to enhance credit scoring, risk assessment, and customer segmentation.
• Product Analytics: Analyze product performance and customer behavior to provide actionable insights that drive product enhancements and strategic decision-making.
• Data Modelling: Create, maintain, and optimize data models to support the organization’s credit risk and product analytics functions.
• Reporting Enhancements: Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance strategy reporting, ensuring that key metrics are clearly communicated and actionable.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with risk management, product development, and data science teams to align data strategies with business objectives.
• Data Governance: Ensure data quality and integrity through the implementation of robust data governance practices.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data analysts and modelers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in data modelling, with a focus on credit risk strategy development in the banking sector - mandatory.
• Proficiency in machine learning techniques and tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL) for model development and analysis.
• Strong understanding of credit risk frameworks, products, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to effectively communicate insights.
• Excellent analytical skills with a proven ability to translate complex data into actionable strategies.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
