Senior Data Platform Engineer

Overview

Responsibilities

• Manage Azure Platform Services like Kubernetes and VM based services and Applications like Databricks or Elastic Search

• Monitor and troubleshoot issues impacting Platform Services and capabilities.

• Set and enforce Standards, best practices, and platform governance.

• Implement and maintain data security measures in compliance with company policies and industry best practices. 

• Automate Project onboarding process using CI/CD and DevOps tools.

• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientist and Application developers on complex technical challenges.

• Research and develop roadmaps for Data Platform capabilities.

• Own delivery of Azure and Data Platform projects 

• Follow Corporate governance requirements around architecture and change management.

• Build proof of concepts & prototypes to solve emerging challenges.

• Stay current with new data technologies and programming models.

• Mentor and line-manage other locally based Platform Engineers.

Qualifications:

• Degree in software engineering, computer science or other engineering field

• 4+ years of Platform Engineering experience, e.g., on Kubernetes, Containerization, Linux, scripting, CI/CD, Security, DevOps.

• 2+ years of experience in Cloud technologies, preferably Azure

• Experience in platform administration of containerized applications like Dataiku, Quantexa, Elastic Search is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with monitoring technologies like Log analytics, Graphana or Datadog.

• Experience in

• Backup, recovery, performance tuning and monitoring

• Handling complex micro-service containerization and orchestration

• Performance tuning and optimization

• A self-starter, passionate about Cloud Technologies in Data and Analytics space.

• A leader and an influencer, who can work with multiple globally distributed and shared teams and achieve results.

• Aware of corporate compliance and governance requirements and will follow them personally as well as coach junior team members on the same.

• Adept at providing solutions to challenging Cloud Data tasks by utilizing a variety of different strategies, architectures, and design patterns as well as optimizations.

• Able to function in a Global team structure and
