Your work environment at EXP

EXP is currently searching for a Senior Data Scientist support for our Fort Lauderdale, FL office to work in a flexible role that includes Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSM&O), ITS, Data Analytics, Statistics and general engineering services such as but not limited to program planning,  marketing, meeting coordination, preparation of technical correspondence, documents and reports, contacts with and/or appearances before local officials, civic and community groups, public agencies, etc. In this position you are expected to either work at an EXP or EXP client’s office.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

Responsible for providing program management services to support managed lanes and ramp signal implementation and operations along multiple freeways and highways.  Developing transition plan from construction to operations (official delivery).  Overseeing transition plan implementation.  Updating multiple documents such as but not limited to, standard operating plans, standard operating procedures and standard operating guidelines  Developing necessary training materials to support current and future operations as needed Training operations staff as needed Collaborating with software enhancements by a third party, coordinating with Contractors in charge of construction activities affecting operations, and other activities required to support projects prior to final acceptance.  Assisting with preparation of assigned reports.  Overseeing managed lanes operations and develop a process to improve system operations Overseeing ramp signaling operations and develop a process to improve system operations Overseeing overall project performance to ensure it is meeting the intended results.  Evaluating and analyzing project related performance metrics.  Developing and implementing recommendations to mitigate performance measures degradation.  Conducting and overseeing operational analyses.  Providing projects related data and information to others (internal and external).  Coordinating and supporting testing for all software, hardware, and firmware upgrades/changes.  Reviewing and updating operational parameters including but not limited to: Time of Day, Level of Service, and Traffic Density Delta tables for Express  Lanes.  Representing the EXP and the assigned client on meetings, workshops, presentations  Supporting public outreach/public information efforts as required  

 

What your experience and qualifications look like

Be graduated from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in an engineering discipline or any other science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) discipline.   Have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in a TMC or similar operations facility.   Good leadership and interpersonal skills.  Excellent understanding of key management concepts.  Create project schedules in Microsoft Windows applications.  Ability to clearly communicate technical information in layman’s terms.  Ability to work alternate work schedules and be on-call 24 hours/day.  Skilled in the use of all Windows operating systems.  Ability to write technical reports and correspondence.  Ability to coordinate real-time activities and priorities. Ability to work in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment that requires proactive as well as reactive
