Position: Senior Data Scientist
Job Location: 680 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086
Duties: Develop Data Science and Machine Learning solutions to optimize end-to-end fulfillment. Provide expertise and guidance on all technical aspects of development, including requirements, design, and implementation. Ensure the use of Data Science and Machine Learning best practices so that the team follows a structured and efficient approach to their projects. Understand industry and company-wide trends to help assess and develop new technologies. Communicate complex models and analysis in a clear and precise manner coupled with actionable conclusions and recommendations. Summarize learnings, take-aways, and recommendations in a succinct way to executive leadership. Partner and collaborate with organization leaders to help improve operations. Work closely with Data Engineers, Analysts, ML Engineers, and application developers to help build Machine Learning and statistics driven models. Build solutions that are easy to integrate into external frameworks or existing platforms.
Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems Management, or related field and 1 year of experience in an analytics related field; OR Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems Management, or related field and 3 years of experience in an analytics related field.
Skills required: Experience with one of the following database technologies and distributed datastores: SQL or NoSQL. Experience with coding languages including SQL, Java, C++, and Python. Experience with Machine Learning model training, testing, tuning, and validation techniques including Chi square, ROC curve, and root mean square error. Experience with data visualization tools including Python, R libraries, GGplot, Matplotlib, and Ploty. Experience with Tableau for advanced visualization techniques. Experience with feature relevance and selection and exploratory data analysis. Experience with advanced statistical methods and best-practice advanced modelling techniques including graphical models, Bayesian inference, basic level of NLP, Vision, neural networks, SVM, and Random Forest. Experience with Multivariate calculus and Statistical models behind standard ML models. Experience with advanced Excel. Experience with exploratory data analysis activities on available data including basic statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and statistical inferences. Experience with model deployment and scaling. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $138,911/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
