**Overview** The **Senior Database Developer** is a critical role responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining BroadPath’s reporting database architecture to support advanced analytics and reporting initiatives. This senior-level position requires a high degree of expertise and the ability to engage with various stakeholders to recommend and implement best practices for database systems, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will function independently, make strategic decisions, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance data handling capabilities and drive data-driven decision-making across the organization. Reporting directly to the Head of Reporting and Business Analytics, this role ensures alignment of goals and strategies within the organization. **Responsibilities** **Database Architecture Design and Implementation:** + Design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance database solutions. + Establish database architecture standards and best practices. **Data Flow Optimization:** + Optimize data flows and processes to enhance efficiency and reduce processing times. + Implement data integration solutions to support advanced analytics and reporting. **Data Security and Compliance:** + Ensure data security measures are in place, including encryption, access controls, and backup/recovery processes. + Maintain compliance with data governance policies and regulatory requirements. **Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:** + Engage with various stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide recommendations. + Collaborate with Business Analytics, Reporting teams, and other departments to support data initiatives. **Integration of New Technologies:** + Evaluate and integrate new data management technologies and tools. + Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in database management. **Performance Monitoring and Tuning:** + Monitor database performance and conduct tuning to optimize efficiency. + Troubleshoot and resolve database issues promptly. **Documentation and Standards:** + Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of database architectures, processes, and procedures. + Establish data modeling standards and guidelines. **Mentorship and Leadership:** + Provide guidance and mentorship to team members. + Lead initiatives to improve database development practices within the organization. **Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. + Minimum of 5 years of experience in database development and management. + Proven experience in designing and implementing complex database systems. + Expertise in database technologies such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL. + Strong proficiency in SQL programming and stored procedures. + Experience with database architecture, data warehousing, and ETL processes. + Knowledge of data modeling tools and techniques. + Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) is a plus. + In-depth understanding of data security principles and best practices. + Experience with data governance and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). + Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. + Excellent problem-solving abilities. + Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. + Ability to discuss technical concepts with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. + Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. + Proven ability to lead projects and mentor team members. + Ability to function independently and make strategic decisions. + High level of adaptability to new technologies and methodologies. + Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends. + Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Oracle Certified Professional, or similar are preferred. + Ability to engage with various stakeholders to understand needs and provide expert recommendations. + Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. + High level of adaptability to an ever-changing environment. + Ability to work independently as well as part of a cross-functional team. + Demonstrated experience in establishing best practices and standards for database development. **Systems experience required:** + SQL server (Non-negotiable), Power BI, SSIS **Certification Microsoft Certified:** + Azure Database Administrator Associate, Oracle Certified Professional, or similar are preferred. **Diversity Statement** At BroadPath, diversity is our strength.
