Job Title – Senior Db2 DBA (Remote)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Infra Architect with a strong background in DB2 System Administration and expertise in the Cards and Payments domain. The ideal candidate will have 11 to 15 years of experience demonstrating a deep understanding of infrastructure architecture and its application in financial services. This role will involve designing implementing and optimizing infrastructure solutions to support our business objectives.

Responsibilities

· Design and implement robust infrastructure solutions tailored to the Cards and Payments domain.

· Oversee the administration and optimization of DB2 systems to ensure high availability and performance.

· Provide technical guidance and support to development teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with business needs.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate infrastructure solutions seamlessly into existing systems.

· Conduct regular system audits and performance tuning to maintain optimal system health.

· Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure designs configurations and procedures.

· Lead the evaluation and selection of new technologies to enhance infrastructure capabilities.

· Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements in all infrastructure-related activities.

· Implement security best practices to protect sensitive data and maintain system integrity.

· Manage disaster recovery planning and execution to ensure business continuity.

· Provide mentorship and training to junior team members to build a strong technical team.

· Monitor infrastructure performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.

· Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Qualifications

· DB2 UDB DBA experience between 8 to 12 years

· Should have strong working knowledge and experience on Database Upgrade (V 10.5 to 11.5 & 11.1 to 11.5)

· Should have strong working knowledge on DB2 UDB Database Administration with IBM MQ Replication

· Should have strong knowledge and experience on installation DB2 UDB and MQ S/w and Patch Management

· Should have strong knowledge and hands on experience in IBM MQ Replication and troubleshooting

· Should have strong knowledge and experience on HADR configuration and troubleshooting

· Should have strong knowledge and experience database diagnostics tools, inbuilt, DMC

· Should have strong knowledge and experience in backup, restore and recovery strategies

· Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, index creation, partition creation and management and other related monitoring, troubleshooting tools

· Creation of DB objects, logical and physical storage, storage groups etc

· Replication Monitoring

· Granting and Revoking Users / Groups authorizations

· Data movement utilities

· Restore and Recovery strategies

· Capacity planning

· Ability to troubleshoot the issue and handle the situation whenever required

· Should have good knowledge on ITIL (Problem, Change and Incident Management process)

· Knowledge on Backup strategy and Disaster recovery is strongly recommended

· Should have Scripting knowledge and experience to automate routine tasks.

· Knowledge in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, index, partition addition, deletion etc

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $73,000- $115,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
