Senior Delivery Manager - Reuters

Reuters Operations and Strategy seeks a collaborative, motivated project and program leader with experience in delivering content-driven product development solutions.

The Technology Delivery Management team is responsible for solution delivery, and implementation of service and support of the cloud-based technology and platforms that underpin Reuters News and Media products.

The ideal candidate will have proven ability to lead global projects and programs that drive results and process improvements; someone who is motivated by the desire to improve our Customers’ experiences, optimize productivity, and nurture project success from inception to completion.

The successful candidate will be working with our Pulitzer Prize winning Editorial team, our Commercial teams, as well as the variety of teams across the Reuters organization.

The individual will have a passion for Agile delivery and the culture of continuous improvement the Agile mindset brings.

 

About the Role

As our Senior Delivery Manager, you will:

Maintains effective control, leadership, and responsibility for the delivery of the project or program – scope, schedule, budget, quality, and business value.Ensures the communication channels and processes are in place to notify key stakeholders about status, changes, issues/risks and dependencies.Effectively manages project team conflicts, builds collaborative partnerships with stakeholders and gains commitment to make decisions.Implements effective communication plans and operating rhythm, change management processes and provision of regular and accurate reports.Effectively communicates Agile principles, scrum practices and overall operating model across the organization, embracing an Agile mindset.Partners with the Business to support product backlog prioritization.

 

About You

As our Senior Delivery Manager, you will likely have:

10+ years experience in project and program management, with agile, product development teams.Demonstrated experience delivering and managing projects and programs through the entire software development lifecycle. In some cases, these will have a high degree of ambiguity.Strong negotiating, influencing, and conflict resolution skills.Proven ability to identify, assess and manage risks to successfully deliver programs and projects and ensure stakeholders have information to make effective decisions.Comfort with working in a complex and dynamic environment, juggling multiple priorities, interacting with people at all levels of the organization and across multiple functions to successfully deliver projects.Track record of effective control, leadership and responsibility across project and program delivery - including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and business value.Ability to influence and drive change. Team player who can leave their ego at the door.Proven ability to develop and maintain broad knowledge of related functional areas across the business.  Ability to clearly communicate and influence by adapting style to reflect changing needs at all stakeholder levels  Confidence to challenge the status quo.Creative problem solver.Outstanding attention to detail combined with the ability to see the big picture.

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

Technical Understanding: Experience working with teams using modern web and mobile app technologies, and CMS platform.  You don’t have to be an engineer but you have to be able to talk to engineers.Agile & Development Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban) across the full product and software development lifecycle.Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).Professional Certifications: Relevant professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile (Scrum Master or equivalent), or similar qualifications.Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly convey technical and non-technical information to diverse stakeholders.Project & Collaboration Tools: Proficient in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, Smartsheet).
