Job Summary\:
Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Computer & Information Sciences in the College of Science and Technology, the Senior Administrative Specialist will act as the primary administrator and coordinator for course scheduling for all academic programs offered by the department. Collaborates
with the CIS leadership team to develop the course schedule for academic certificate and degree programs. Manages and updates the CIS course schedule on using university systems (e.g., Banner, R25). Maintains waitlists and course registrations during open enrollment periods using university
systems. Updates course rotation schedule for all academic programs, schedules courses, and assigns instructors to courses and designates classrooms for those courses. Works closely with the Chair and Vice Chair to support the adjunct hiring process and summer hiring process. In addition, the
Senior Administrative Specialist will provide support for collection and analysis of departmental and institutional data, with an emphasis on student academic and course enrollment information. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience\:
At least three years of directly related administrative experience in an academic environment. Experience with formulating queries in query based systems, for retrieving desired data. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills & Abilities\:
Ability to analyze data to generate executive summaries and reports. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; particularly Excel. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to effectively interact with a diverse group of students, faculty, administrators and staff. Strong attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated resourcefulness, initiative, and follow-through. Demonstrated ability to proofread, edit and compose correspondence.Preferred\:
