About the Role 

 

An opportunity has become available for a Senior Design Manager in North Ryde NSW, for Downer’s Energy & Utilities business unit reporting to the Renewables Technical Manager. The Senior Design Engineer’s role will ensure that design requirements are identified, services are procured (internal and external) and to provide industry leading delivery of design and design management to the highest standards across the Infrastructure Projects division.  The ideal candidate will envision themselves attending to duties such as:

 

Work with Renewables Technical Manager to complete quarterly forecastingThe development of ZEB conversion projects with Concept Design/ECI involvementWork closely with project managers and other project engineering staff to ensure effective integration of design management Services with operational teamsAssist in the development of design solutions for construction and temporary works assistance to Project teamsAssist as required with monthly project reviewsDevelop clear management plans and procedures to ensure that appropriate control for the procurement and provision of design and engineering services is understood and adhered to across the business unit

 

About You  

 

Strong Environmentally Sustainable Design and Innovation and Technology credentials including an understanding of the NCC and Australian StandardsExcellent understanding of building technology and construction methodologies as an essential element of building designElectrical background preferred but not essentialFamiliar with ZEB conversions and designA strong customer focus including the ability to develop project solutions that provide value for money
