Senior Design Engineer

If you are a senior-level engineering professional who enjoys solving meaningful problems and seeking opportunities to grow personally and professionally, Emerson may have a role for you! As a Sr. Design Engineer based in our Stafford, TX location, you will provide engineering support for our Pressure Management business unit on Product Lifecycle Management, Product Testing and Evaluation (T&E), and Research and Development (R&D) of skills you'll use every day. This role will be leading multi-discipline global Product Modification Project teams including members from Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Customers, Quality, Sales and Marketing. 

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Project Management: Plan, organize, and coordinate project activities for product modifications and improvements; lead cross-functional teams on complex projects; ensure proper team participation and maintain project documentation. Product Development: Design and develop product modifications/redesigns with a focus on cost reduction and value-added solutions; create schedules, acceptance criteria, and detailed analysis using FEA, CFD, GD&T, and other engineering tools. Product Support: Investigate and resolve design-related production issues and customer concerns; implement corrective actions, evaluate cost reductions, and maintain product documentation and process improvements. New Technologies: Research and identify innovative or new technologies to uncover intellectual property opportunities; initiate technology development projects with management approval. Scientific Problem Solving: Apply scientific problem-solving techniques to daily tasks and projects. Cost Reduction & Complexity Optimization: Identify and implement opportunities to reduce costs and simplify processes in both existing products and new product modifications.

 For This Role, You Will Need:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering  5 years or more of relevant engineering experience  Functional experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and other gas pressure regulator standards Experience and functional knowledge of project management tools and techniques Ability to travel domestically and internationally (10%) 

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering  Validated extensive knowledge of pressure management devices and technologies  Proven understanding of Finite Element Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Computer Aided Design, 3D Printing and/or Minitab  Validated understanding of GD&T  Background in Material Science and Application
