Job Summary:

As an Engine and Alternative Technology Senior Engineer, you will provide application and system engineering support for power integration into transport refrigeration units.  In this role you will work with various forms of motive power including engines, generators, fuel cells, and other forms of fuels and energy.  You will be able to exercise your strong technical and communication skills collaborating with worldwide employees, vendors, dealers, and customers.  The position will be based out of our Minneapolis, MN headquarters and is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

Where is the work:  

This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week at our Minneapolis, MN location and is considered safety-sensitive.

What you will do:

Colaborate with designers, lab technicians, vendors, and other team members to execute projects and sustaining activities Engineer and evaluate engine systems and their applications—including physical interfaces and sub-systems for fuel/oil, air intake, exhaust/after-treatment, PTO/drivetrain, structural, etc. Support and evaluate control system and electrical integration between electrical and mechanical interfaces for engines, fuel cells, generators and Thermo King products Utilize predictive modeling and simulation and correlate with empirical testing results for design understanding and optimization. Validate durability of designs and root cause of problems through use of DFMEA/DVPR process, data mining, forensics and test analysis. Create test plans, analyze data, determine root cause of reliability or quality issues and provide summary reports Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 2 weeks at a time.  Able to attain necessary visa for travel when applicable.  Expected travel time ~ 10%

 

What you will bring: 

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, or related field. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience within design, electrical, mechanical, or project engineering,  Engine and aftertreatment experience preferred Understanding of fuels/oils/coolants Understanding or capability of engine or system modeling Proficient in designing tests, analyzing, and providing conclusions and/or reports Fundamental knowledge of generators and electrical system architecture preferred Strong Communication skills

Compensation:    

Base Pay Range: $110,000-140,000/annually
