Our client is a leading multinational construction and engineering contractor, headquartered in the USA and operating across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East. With a global workforce of over 9,000 and an annual turnover exceeding €6 billion, they specialise in delivering high-tech projects across key sectors, including data centres, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, photovoltaics, battery plants, and specialty chemicals. They provide a full turnkey service, covering design, construction, and handover, encompassing civil, structural, and architectural (CSA) works, mechanical and electrical (MEP) systems, and commissioning.
The need now exists for an experienced Senior Design Manager to lead the design process for large-scale construction projects that involves managing design teams, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring that all design aspects meet project requirements, quality standards, and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
Manage the design coordination and implementation plans of architects, structural engineers, civil engineers, M&E engineers, building technicians, and fire protection engineers.
Lead the development of project design strategies, goals, and objectives.
Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, and regulatory agencies to ensure that design plans meet project requirements and comply with relevant codes and standards.
Verify and approve design documents, specifications, and technical drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
Interpret project milestones, deliverables, and critical paths to track project timelines and development.
Develop accurate schedules to ensure logical, compliant and project specific programs.
Responsible for quality assurance processes and procedures to maintain the integrity and consistency of design deliverables.
Lead the design reviews, audits, and inspections to identify and address any design-related issues and present reliable solutions.
Degree in Engineering/ Construction Management or related field.
Good understanding of safe application of building standards and guidelines.
Proven accomplishments as Senior Design Manager with good background in high-tech, data centre, and pharmaceutical projects.
Proficiency in CAD, Revit & digital planning software & tools.
Remarkable leadership, problem-solving skills, and communication skills.
