BAE Systems is seeking a Sr Design Quality Engineer to join our team working on state of the art missile sensors and seeker systems within the Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions (PGSS) Product Line in the Precision Strike (PS) Business Area. They will contribute to Program performance, verification of product/process conformance, and customer satisfaction by applying their technical expertise to execute product assurance engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires the applicant to have demonstrated experience in engineering development process and methods, including planning, requirements capture/decomposition, implementation, verification, and validation. Typical responsibilities for planning, documenting, and implementing the Design Quality Assurance function include: + Participate in design & development review processes covering planning, requirements, design, validation, and verification. + Advise project leadership on issues and best practices impacting Engineering quality or project performance to cost and schedule. + Develop Product/Project Quality Assurance plans and ensure execution. + Provide clear communication and flow down of program quality requirements to all affected disciplines (Engineering, Operations, and Program Management). + Review and approve engineering documentation, design changes and development artifacts. + Contribute to Engineering project pursuits and bid estimates. + Support project tailoring, project plan/documentation development, and other activities to establish the project s execution processes. + Use metrics and measures effectively to analyze and report on program performance information. + Member of the team responsible for the implementation and validation of the Quality Management System to assure company and contractual quality requirements are satisfied. + Uses trend analysis and other tools to identify early warning indicators of program issues and initiates preventative or corrective actions. + Cross pollinating best practices and lessons learned between projects. + Participate in Material Review Board and Continuous Improvement Board. + Support system test monitoring, test set-up conformity, and review of test reports and qualification test reports and failure investigations reports. + Initiating, facilitating, managing, and validating the effectiveness of root cause analysis, corrective, and preventative actions. + Driving Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities through to closure. BAE site location may either be Hudson, NH or Huntsville, AL. Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a flexible hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + Bachelor's Degree and 2-4 years work experience or 6-8 years of experience in lieu of degree + A passion for product / process improvement + Some knowledge of C or other software programming language + Engineering Development experience + Experience participating in Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities + Well-organized + Strong communicator capable of working through complex issues with peers, management and multiple functions + Ability to mine data and create visualizations of the data + Ability to read and understand engineering drawings **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + Bachelor's Degree in related field (ie Software Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering) and 4 years of experience + AS9100/ISO9000 certification & audit experience + Experience performing software coding, testing, validation, and verification activities + Experience with systems engineering processes, methodologies, and tools + Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) + Root Cause/Corrective Action methodologies + Positive "we can" attitude with a passion for customer satisfaction **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $95106 - $161680 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
