Your role in the Team

We are looking for a Senior Java developer to join our Asset Servicing Team in Bangalore. Asset Servicing Team is responsible for managing Settlement of Trades. You will be responsible for developing high performant, low latency systems where reliability and accuracy are paramount for delivering high-quality software within IG's most complex business domain.

What you’ll do

 - Work closely with Architects and TL to lead the architectural implementation within the team.

- Required to work on unfamiliar technologies and code bases and acts as a trouble-shooter.

- Drive the technical direction and architecture of projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and best practices.

- Own features and solutions along with modernization plans for the tech stack you are responsible for.

- Ensure your team meets IG’s software quality standards and adopts engineering best practices.

- Conduct regular code reviews and provide feedback to team members to ensure code quality, adherence to standards, and best practices.

- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing within the team.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues, mitigate risks, and ensure successful project outcomes.

- Stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and leverage this knowledge to drive technical innovation and improvement.

- Act as a liaison between the technical team and stakeholders, providing regular updates, status reports, and addressing any concerns or issues.

- Testing: Develop unit and integration tests to ensure the robustness of the application. Familiarity with testing frameworks like Jest or Enzyme is a plus.

- Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.

What you’ll need for this role

- Extensive knowledge of Java EE and related technologies: Spring Framework, JMS, etc.

- 7+ years of experience in back end technologies.

- Understanding of how JVM works

- Hands on experience in design pattern, Spring, SpringBoot, ORM's like Hibernate, Kafka , AMQ, TDD, BDD - Bamboo/Jenkins Good to have knowledge on Docker, Nomad and front end technologies.

- Knowledge about distributed cache like coherence, Ignite is preferred 

- Knowledge about event driven system is an added advantage.

- Quick to assimilate new ideas and concepts – productive from day one in the role.

- Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.

- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in an Agile development environment.

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on driving results.

- Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on time and within budget.
