Job description and responsibilitiesThe Senior mobile application developer will collaborate with the eCommerce team and IT to develop, program, and test various projects applying the latest mobile technologies.
In this role, the individual will design, develop, document, test, and debug the application. They will work with innovative technologies and enterprise-grade integration software daily and will be instrumental in advancing the customer mobile app to a higher technological standard. Additionally, the individual will have a strong understanding of our customers needs and how emerging technologies can enhance the overall customer experience.
Manages and participates in the full development life cycle, including concept, design, build, deployment, testing, release to app stores, and supportOffer technical insights on current mobile platforms to enhance performance, availability, and utilization optimizationsSupport, maintain, and document functionalityConduct research and development to assess emerging technologies and their potential to enhance the platformEvaluate, recommend, and implement third-party software as necessaryApply source control and bug-tracking systems effectivelyReview estimates for software development and delivery to ensure they meet quality and accuracy standardsPerform unit testing on code to ensure robustness, including testing for edge cases, usability, and overall reliabilityManages and participates in design meetings, analyzing user needs to determine technical requirementsCollaborates with and leads tech teams consisting of employees and contractor personnel from vendor companies in planning and execution, serving as a technology leaderCollaborate with the eCommerce Innovation and IT teams to test and refine developed software and programsPrepare projects for hand-off and deployment as proof of concepts transition to productionDevelop the ability to quickly adapt to changes and learn from field testingUnited Airlines is an equal opportunity employer.
