Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for one of our large federal clients. Currently the team is working remote from home, however, that may change subject to client's discretion. The Software Engineer's responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Participate in all phases of the Agile software development lifecycle Produce process flows, specification, and design documentation Work with other members of the development team to evaluate and refine complex programming specifications. Develop high quality, well-documented code, abiding by USPS coding standards Perform unit-level testing and participate in integration testing. Perform code reviews of other developers work to identify issues and ensure that processes, methods, and standards are being followed Participate in functional and regression testing activities to ensure functionality of updates Support issue troubleshooting and customer support activities Compensation: $53.85/hr to $56.73/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Skills and Requirements Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related subject. Ten (10) or more years of experience in a computer related field. In-depth knowledge of software engineering techniques and concepts Experience in the full software development lifecycle for multiple software systems Experience with SEI/CMMI and/or other process improvement methodologies 3+ years working in software development Experience with both .NET Framework 4.6+ and .NET Core 6 Experience with ASP.NET Web Forms, ASP.NET CORE MVC, ADO.NET, ASP.NET Core Web API, Windows Services, Bootstrap and/or Tailwind styling libraries, jQuery and JavaScript Experience with creating and maintaining both SOAP based Web Services and ASP.NET Core REST APIs Experience with unit testing frameworks for .NET, such as xUnit, NUnit, or MSTest Experience with debugging and profiling complex .NET applications using tools like VS Diagnostics. 2+ years working with SQL Server Ability to interact and coordinate with other software engineers, CM, QA, and systems analysts Must be able to obtain a USPS Security Clearance.
