Senior Development Engineer
Job Description

Are you passionate about designing and developing mechanical systems? Are you eager to contribute to a global leader in energy-efficient water hydraulic solutions? Then you could be the Senior Development Engineer we are looking for at Danfoss High Pressure Pumps (HPP).  

In this position, you will drive the design and development of new water hydraulic products, such as axial piston pumps, taking ownership of component and system designs. 

You will implement new technologies and methodologies, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to transform innovative ideas into market-leading solutions. This includes leveraging advanced simulation strategies to unlock new opportunities to deliver on Danfoss’ commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency.

You will join our highly skilled and experienced team of development engineers and specialists dedicated to driving innovation in water hydraulic solutions in the HPP Innovation team in Nordborg.

Job Responsibilities

As Senior Development Engineer, you will lead product development throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from initial design concepts and solution development to manufacturing. You will champion best practices to ensure optimal fluid dynamics, structural integrity, product functionality and design for manufacturing.

Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Driving the design and development of new water hydraulic products, including axial piston pumps, ensuring alignment with market needs.  Collaborating with testing, manufacturing, and product management teams to deliver seamless development and successful product launches. Developing and implementing robust test and validation methodologies. Leading the adoption and implementation of best practices within your areas of expertise. Creating and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation.

 

Background & Skills

The ideal candidate will bring both technical expertise and personal contribution to the team. Our work culture is characterized by a supportive team spirit and self-driven individuals who take ownership of their work.

You hold a Master’s or PhD degree in Engineering, Natural Sciences, or a related field and has solid experience in design engineering. Experience in pump mechanical design or hydraulics is highly preferred, while expertise with high-pressure systems, fluid mechanics, corrosion or tribology is an advantage.

Furthermore, you have:

A proven track record of successful product development and launch, with essential experience in design for manufacturing (DFM). Experience in designing highly loaded mechanical parts, preferably within fluid power machines or hydraulics. The ability to drive design and concept development based on insights from FEM/CFD simulations. Proficiency in 3D design and 2D drawings, preferably using Siemens NX. Experience with simulation tools, such as Comsol, Ansys, or Simerics is an advantage. Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
