About the team
Payrix by WorldPay is a modern platform that provides Payments Facilitation (PayFac) as a service with a full suite of payments and risk management services built for vertical SaaS companies. With Payrix, SaaS providers can embed payments and financial services in their native experience and add a new revenue stream in a few weeks. We have a strong product-market fit and a clear moat that has resulted in an exponential growth of 100% year over year, and we expect the trend to continue.

What you’ll own
The DevOps team is dedicated to achieving operational excellence. In this role, you will work on helping build secure, scalable and highly available platform, collaborating with our product engineering teams to ensure alignment in automating our infrastructure provisioning, managing production and non-production environments, enhancing platform resilience, scalability, and automating our CI/CD pipelines.
Design, develop and maintain infrastructure using infrastructure as code tools such as Pulumi/Terraform, Ansible etc.
Develop and implement DevOps practices to improve the overall software development lifecycle.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that applications are highly available and scalable.
Develop automated build and deployment processes to enable continuous delivery of software releases.
Collaborate with development teams to ensure that infrastructure meets the requirements of the application.
Establish and maintain best practices for cloud security, compliance, and cost optimization.
Participate in code and design reviews to ensure the quality and maintainability of code.
Work with peer SRE team to roll out changes to our production environment and help mitigate production incidents.
Collaborate with our platform and operations teams to build, maintain, performance tune and optimize our cloud infrastructure. (Think Docker, Pulumi, Kubernetes, EC2, etc.)
Debugging difficult technical problems, and making systems and products both work better
Educate, mentor and hold the engineering teams accountable to improve the reliability of our systems and make reliability a core value of the engineering culture.
Participate in an on-call rotation to provide timely troubleshooting and resolution of urgent issues.
What you bring
5+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong background in DevOps and Infrastructure as Code.
You have strong knowledge of infrastructure automation tools such as Pulumi, Terraform, Ansible etc.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
Experience with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
Knowledge of CI/CD tools and pipelines.
Strong understanding of network and security concepts.
You have experience working in a distributed production environment.
You have experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management (at least one of Ansible, Terraform, Pulumi, etc.)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a bias toward open, transparent cultural practices
Ability to work collaboratively across many teams influencing decisions and setting standards
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
This role requires on-call availability to ensure swift resolution of issues outside regular business hours
Desired Experience (not required):
Experience designing and building reliable systems capable of handling high throughput and low latency
A willingness to dive into understanding, debugging, and improving any layer of the stack
Strong programming skills in C#, PHP and inclination towards automating complex administrative tasks
Familiarity with working in rapid growth environments
Positive outlook, strong work ethic, and responsive to internal and external clients.
