As a DevOps Engineer on our FinOps Team in the CloudOS Group, you'll play a crucial role in optimising and building transparency about cloud costs of our Signavio Cloud Infrastructure platform. Our CloudOS mission is to build the foundation for our application developers so they can focus on creating value - profiting from the scale of SAP without being too dragged down by overhead, with low cognitive load, and with security & compliance built-in. We pride ourselves in following a Platform Engineering approach, being infrastructure-as-code only, and we continuously push to adopt new technologies that solve our biggest issues once they’re proven. 

 

 

What You'll Do: 
 

Managing and optimizing cloud spending by monitoring and controlling cloud resources and costs. 

Collaborating with DevOps and engineering teams to introduce best FinOps practices.  

Developing and maintaining automated processes for resource provisioning, monitoring, and scaling to optimize cloud costs.  

Identifying cost saving opportunities and implementing cost optimization strategies. 

Conducting regular cost analysis and reporting to track cloud spending trends and identify areas for improvement.  

Collaborate transparently with a variety of internal stakeholders in the form of demos, presentations and documentation. 

Collaborate with external stakeholders on organisation wide Cloud cost saving initiatives. 

 

What You'll Bring 

 

You’re well versed in DevOps world: among others have a good knowledge and experience with AWS, Kubernetes and IaC tools. 

You apply software engineering practices like GitOps, CI/CD, and TD and know how to code (e.g. in Go, Python or Typescript) 

You understand concepts of High Availability, Scalability, Security, and Disaster Recovery.  

Experience in cost reporting tools, such as AWS Cost Explorer or CloudHealth  

Being proficient in Excel and reporting tools like Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud or Tableau)  

It itches you, when data is not reported correctly, and things are not running as optimal as they could. 

 

Above all, you'll be a strong team player with a positive, can-do attitude, thriving with feedback, and understand that we can only succeed as a distributed team. You'll dislike manual changes to infrastructure and will fight for simplicity, automation, always ensuring that untested changes do not make their way into production.

Building on the intelligent enterprise strategy, SAP Signavio set out to support and accompany SAP customers in navigating through their digital transformation by helping them understand and improve their business processes.  

The platform group is one of five groups in the engineering department of SAP Signavio, and our CloudOS teams are responsible for cloud and database infrastructure, shared infrastructure services, and Security Operations, with a goal of providing an effective Internal Developer Platform. 

 

You know how to maintain and debug Kubernetes clusters, including using tools like Helm or Kustomize. 

You have experience or willingness to learn service meshes with Kubernetes & Istio 

Have a good experience in Linux, including Bash scripting.
