Job Summary:
The DevOps Senior Software Engineer (SWE) works as part of a small team maintaining and participating in requirements gathering and analysis; all while providing estimates for design, development, and testing. Our ideal candidate will utilize Python in Linux to write and execute automated tests, leveraging BASH scripting for system interactions, while integrating with JIRA for test case management and reporting. They will work with system and hardware engineers to gather software requirements and project limitations. The SWE makes recommendations for technology upgrades, performs upgrades to new versions of existing frameworks and migrates from one framework to another while utilizing DevOps Methodologies.
Responsibilities Include:
Software Development
Analyze, design, code, and update software for new features and performance improvements.Create software by analyzing system standards, working with users/system engineers, and debugging issues.Predict and measure design outcomes using scientific analysis and math.Data and Algorithms
Develop and implement data queries and algorithms to meet performance standards.Design algorithms with strict constraints and perform quality checks on team products.Basic Qualifications:
Fourteen (14) years’ experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.Proficiency with DevOps methodologies.Required Toolsets: Kubernetes, Docker, Python, BASH scripting, JIRA, and programming in a Linux environment.Must have experience with Docker and Kubernetes in containerization, Kubernetes management, and automation technologies.Clearance Required: Must have an active TS/SCI with Polygraph.At Leidos, the opportunities are boundless.
