Senior Digital Accessibility Specialist (6-Month Contract) Requisition ID: 216078 Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture. **What you will be doing:** As the Senior Digital Accessibility Specialist, you will champion inclusive design and accessibility across Scotiabank, creating accessible digital experiences for our customers. **Is this role right for you?** **In this role, you will:** + Develop and document accessibility standards and policies, ensuring they are followed across all digital products. + Collaborate strategically with teams to support digital product development, providing resources and acting as a sounding board. + Mentor and guide other accessibility, design, and usability specialists, fostering a culture of inclusivity. + Serve as an accessibility technical authority, monitoring industry trends and best practices. + Drive contributions to ongoing accessibility standards and requirements, incorporating input from other centers of practice. + Develop and evolve accessibility testing processes, methodologies, tools, and criteria, ensuring thorough and effective testing. **Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?** **- We'd love to work with you if you have:** + 5-8 years of practical digital accessibility experience, with a strong understanding of digital accessibility standards and inclusive design principles. + Thorough understanding of front-end technologies and their constraints related to digital accessibility for mobile and responsive web applications. + High awareness of disability-related issues in digital accessibility, with expert knowledge of accessibility standards, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. + Experience creating, testing, and remediating accessibility for various document formats (PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). + Knowledge of assistive technologies, including screen readers, print magnification software, and alternative input systems. + Proven ability to provide accessibility solutions and communicate complexities to diverse audiences, including content creators, designers, developers, and testers. + Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, with the ability to work independently and drive inclusive design principles. + Comfortable working within tight timeframes and creatively within constraints, with a fast-learning attitude towards understanding both simple and complex financial solutions. **What's in it for you?** + Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Allyship - We strive to create an inclusive culture where every employee is empowered to reach their fullest potential, respected for who they are, and are embraced through bias-free practices and inclusive values across Scotiabank.
