This role is considered Hybrid, which means the employee will work 2-3 days onsite at a Company designated location and occasionally from home.
Position SummaryWe are looking for an outstanding teammate to join our Paint team. As a Senior Digital Paint Artist, you will be responsible for restoring background plates and crafting digital articulate mattes.

What You’ll DoDemonstrate a strong eye for color and grain structures with the ability to match saturation, hues and black points from multiple sources to create a cohesive final montage
Able to break shots down into individual components with little supervision
Quickly and effectively incorporate supervisor feedback
Research and communicate relevant references, including continuity with similar shots, to the team
Demonstrate a keen eye for recognizing paint artifacts, sharpness and color issues
Manage challenging shots involving heavy motion blur, a high number of layers, and other complexities
Employ a variety of techniques for complex wire removals and clean plate creation
Demonstrate a basic ability to do “paint on comp” work to a high level of quality
Working knowledge of color correction and Grain pipeline in Nuke
Ability to use layout and DM cameras in Nuke
Export track points seamlessly between multiple toolsets
Working knowledge of the stereo compositing pipeline
Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills
Take ownership of your shots and proactively offer solutions for production problems
Actively work across departments in shot groups. Provide updates to production and other artists on shot progress
5+ years of relevant professional VFX experience and a college-level diploma or higher in computer graphics, fine arts, design, or photography, or a related field; OR 7+ years of relevant professional VFX experience in lieu of education
Expertise in Silhouette and Nuke
Computer proficiency, including experience with UNIX operating systems and the ability to learn new software and adapt scripts
Demonstrate an understanding of how your work fits into the overall pipeline and its impact on upstream and downstream departments
A willingness to learn new tools, a strong attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills
Ability to work under tight deadlines and efficiently within a production environment

The hiring range for this position in Vancouver is C$85,900.00 to C$109,900.00 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
