Senior Director, Americas Capital Markets
About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 14 The Team: The Capital Markets team at S&P Dow Jones Indices plays a crucial role in fostering engagement and advocacy for S&P Dow Jones Indices’ intellectual property and data among essential market participants, such as exchanges, clearinghouses, and investment banks. Our mandate is centered on driving revenue growth and expanding strategic relationships within the investment banking sector. We actively engage in discussions surrounding market structure changes related to indices, leveraging S&P DJI's unparalleled presence in the exchange-traded derivatives space to unlock new revenue opportunities and enhance overall market efficiencies. The Role: As the Senior Director of Capital Markets, you will lead initiatives to strengthen engagement and advocacy for S&P Dow Jones Indices’ intellectual property among key stakeholders in the Americas. This pivotal role is instrumental in driving revenue growth and expanding relationships with our largest, most strategic exchange partners. You will influence discussions on market structure as it pertains to indices, ensuring S&P Dow Jones Indices remains a leader in industry developments and opportunities. Responsibilities: Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance engagement with key market participants in the Americas and advocate for S&P Dow Jones Indices’ intellectual property. Manage and nurture relationships with our largest and most strategic exchange partners, ensuring alignment on mutual goals and fostering collaborative initiatives that drive revenue and market presence. Set objectives and performance metrics to measure the success of initiatives and ensure team accountability. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with major exchanges, clearinghouses, market makers, and investment banks to drive collaboration and revenue growth. Serve as the primary contact for key clients, addressing their needs effectively and ensuring alignment with strategic goals. Represent S&P Dow Jones Indices in industry discussions, advocating for the firm's interests and engaging with regulatory bodies to influence policy. Identify new revenue opportunities through innovative products and collaborate with sales and marketing on targeted campaigns focused on the Americas. Conduct market analysis to identify trends and inform strategic decisions relevant to the regional capital markets landscape. Collaborate with Product Management, Research, and Technology teams to ensure alignment on product development that meets market demands. Lead and mentor the Capital Markets team, fostering a culture of excellence and providing ongoing training and development. Monitor the performance of initiatives and prepare reports for senior management on key metrics and insights. Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only): S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $190,000 to $225,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for additional compensation such as a semi-annual incentive bonus plan. What we’re looking for Experience: A minimum of 10 years in capital markets, with a strong emphasis on derivatives, index products, and investment banking. Proven track record of driving revenue growth and managing complex client relationships. Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of market structure, trading dynamics, and the interplay between various financial instruments, including ETFs, futures, and options, particularly within the Americas. Relationship Management: Exceptional ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including major exchanges and investment banks, with strong networking skills that facilitate collaboration and advocacy. Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives that align with S&P Dow Jones Indices’ goals, identifying opportunities for growth within the capital markets. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities to assess market trends, client needs, and competitive positioning, leveraging data to inform decision-making. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences, including senior executives. Leadership: Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of excellence within the Capital Markets team.
