Senior Director, Business Operations - Remote
Title: Senior Director, Business Operations Location: Brisbane, California / Remote About Us: Vera Therapeutics (Nasdaq: VERA), is a late clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing treatments for serious immunological diseases. Position Summary: The Senior Director, Business Operations will report to the Vice President, Commercial Operations and will be the subject matter expert on Field Operations, Data Strategy and Performance Improvement within the commercial team at Vera. Responsibilities: Lead key aspects of field deployment strategy and operations, including team sizing, structure, territory alignment, targeting, call planning, account management, and field reporting. Recommend and implement incentive compensation (IC) design for the field teams based on corporate, commercial, and team objectives. Develop and implement additional incentive plans (e.g., awards, contests, etc.) to ensure the overall IC plan is motivating, equitable, and compliant. Enhance productivity and streamline operations by optimizing sales workflows, systems, and technologies. Support sales enablement programs to equip the field team with essential tools, resources, and training for revenue growth. Establish OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to evaluate sales performance, productivity, and revenue growth. Conduct regular reviews (e.g., weekly forecasts, monthly and quarterly business reviews), lead analytical deep dives as appropriate, and generate actionable insights for continuous improvement. Lead the development, customization, implementation, and ongoing refinement of technology solutions (CRM, Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence, etc.) aligned with the needs of the commercial and medical teams. Ensure that technology solutions support the team's goals and improve operational efficiency. Optimize and recommend data sources for use across commercial planning activities. Develop an overall commercial data strategy in collaboration with other stakeholders to ensure seamless access to analytics and insights. Support lead generation and nurturing processes across multiple channels in partnership with sales and marketing. Track, analyze, and report on the performance of sales and marketing campaigns to help inform future strategies. Qualifications: BS/BA degree required; MBA and/or an advanced science degree preferred. 12+ years of diverse commercial experience (operations or sales) in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry. Deep technical and functional expertise in data, forecasting, and analytics. Strong understanding of business drivers, opportunities, and challenges. Ability to present risks and opportunities clearly and concisely. Strong cross-functional leadership skills and ability to influence without authority. For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $250,000 - $275,000. The exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including but not limited to the candidate's geography, qualifications, skills, and experience. At Vera, base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate will be eligible for an annual performance incentive bonus, new hire equity, and ongoing performance-based equity.
