Senior Director, Channel Management

Position Summary 

The Senior Director, Channel Management will be a strategic leader responsible for driving the development, execution, and optimization of Bio-Techne’s indirect sales channel strategy. This individual will lead efforts to strengthen partnerships with third-party distributors and eMarketplaces, enhance Bio-Techne’s performance on key platforms, and align internal teams to support and scale channel operations globally. This role is critical to ensuring the company remains competitive, delivers a seamless customer experience, and achieves long-term growth objectives. 

Key Responsibilities 

Channel Strategy Development: 

Develop and own a comprehensive, multi-channel strategy that supports the evolving buying journey of life science customers. Work with key channel opportunities (e.g., Fisher, VWR, Labviva, Quartzy) and establish prioritized investment and engagement plans. Evaluate and engage emerging channels and tools, ensuring alignment with divisional and corporate growth objectives. 

Partnership Management: 

Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic third-party channel partners, managing high-level relationships and negotiations. Oversee contracts, performance metrics, and strategic initiatives with third-party distributors and eMarketplace partners. Optimize Bio-Techne’s product placement and ranking on partner platforms to maximize visibility and sales. 

Execution & Operational Leadership: 

Lead a cross-functional team to ensure product information, pricing, and content are accurate, consistent, and competitive across all channels. Collaborate with marketing to develop co-branded campaigns, digital content, and training materials for channel partners. Collaborate with Commercial teams across regions to leverage and implement joint field activities between indirect and direct sales channels Support integration of internal systems (e.g., TradeCentric brokered punchouts, Azure) to improve channel efficiency and customer experience. 

Team Leadership & Development: 

Build and manage a team of channel specialists focused on account integration, partner engagement, and execution excellence. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across internal and external stakeholders. 

Performance Management: 

Define and track KPIs to evaluate channel performance, including revenue contribution, customer acquisition, and partner satisfaction. Provide regular updates to executive leadership on channel performance and strategic progress. Identify and address gaps or risks in Bio-Techne’s channel strategy and execution. 

Qualifications 

Education & Experience: 

10+ years of experience in channel management, sales, or marketing in the life sciences or related industry. Proven track record of developing and executing multi-channel strategies, including distributor and eMarketplace partnerships. 

Skills & Expertise: 

Deep understanding of the life sciences buying journey and the role of distributors and eMarketplaces. Strong negotiation and relationship management skills with the ability to influence across multiple levels. Expertise in eCommerce, data integration platforms (e.g., TradeCentric)/punchouts, and content optimization strategies. Analytical mindset with experience in using data to inform strategy and drive decision-making. 

Leadership & Collaboration: 

Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders. Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing diverse stakeholders. Ability to work effectively in a global organization, balancing regional needs with global priorities.
