Senior Director, Client Partnerships, General Merchandise

Ibotta is seeking a Senior Director, Client Partnerships to join our innovative team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding.

We are looking for a powerhouse Senior Director to engage the biggest general merchandise brands in the world, helping them drive efficient sales at scale through the Ibotta Performance Network.

This position is located in Denver, Colorado as a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Candidates must live in the United States.

What you will be doing:

Meet/exceed annual revenue targets through the development, advancement, and closure of partnerships and execution of new businesses and expansion of existing business; utilizing data and analytics to sell Ibotta’s value proposition

Lead the complete sales cycle from opportunity identification to contract negotiation by working with clients, prospects, and internal teams

Develop and deliver sales presentations that educate prospective clients on Ibotta’s value proposition, roadmap, and partnership opportunities considering which products would best suit the client’s needs

Execute and deliver on initiatives (commonly cross-functional) that provide business impact beyond individual’s accounts

Lead a team of 6-7 Account Executives to achieve their revenue targets and professional growth goals

Travel up to 40%

What we are looking for: 

8-11 years of experience in a data driven sales role

2-4 years of previous people management experience preferred

Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience selling digital, mobile, or media advertising solutions into verticals such as CPG, General Merchandise, or retail preferred

Proven experience successfully leading sales teams, ideally in the digital marketing space.

Deep entrepreneurial experience building revenue teams and standing up new processes to support them (pipeline management, forecasting tools, prospecting tech stack, lead generation, etc)

Proven ability to sell into high-level leadership (including C-level) and to navigate potential customer organizations to connect with the business owner/decision maker

Excellent strategic business management skills in identifying gaps in initial strategy, addressing those gaps, and quickly gaining alignment to champion execution of changes

Experience successfully navigating very large, matrixed organizations by forging executive C-Level partnerships for advocacy and purchase of new products

Ability to quickly devise new tactics, create materials and train teams on new sales strategies to rapidly address market needs based on client feedback

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (candidates do a mock pitch as part of the hiring process)

Expert negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to close the deal

Flexibility, accountability, resourcefulness, to work with little direction in a fast-paced startup environment

Additional Details:

This position is located in Denver, CO and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), Lifestyle Spending Account, Employee Stock Purchase Program, and 401k match. Denver office perks include paid parking, bagel Thursdays, snacks and occasional meals.

Total compensation range: $191,000-$252,000. Equity is granted in addition to the overall compensation package. This range is inclusive of a base range and a variable bonus. Talk to your recruiter to learn more. This compensation range is specific to the United States labor market and may be adjusted based on actual experience.
