Senior Director, Clinical Data Management

Job Overview
Lead Data Management office(s) to efficiently produce databases that meet customer requirements and company financial objectives.

Essential Functions

Manage a large Data Management office (150+) or multiple Data Management offices.

Consolidate resource requirements and define staffing needs that ensure project objectives can be met while maximizing utilization, realization and minimizing costs across offices.

Manage operating expenses through efficient travel, space utilization, appropriate use of temporary/contractor staff and mix of data management professionals.

Define staffing needs based on hard backlog and strategic plan for region.

Define and implement department objectives consistent with broader regional and global objectives.

Provide strategic technical advice to improve performance and profitability across offices, functions, and customers.

Monitor quality and efficiency across offices to identify trends and opportunities for improvements.

Ensure sharing of learnings across offices. Define strategies for new processes and technology at either regional or global level.

Identify data management and technology trends with competitors, customers and vendors.

Ensure that staff is trained and compliant with current operating procedures and work instructions and project scope of work.

Work with peers regionally and globally to define and implement training strategies.

Mentor staff members to develop Data Management, drug development and business expertise.

Manage customer relationship with account managers, functional heads and customer functional peers.

Provide operational input into proposals for large programs and strategic partnerships.

Provide input to costing algorithms and standard proposal text. Lead customer meetings and strategic discussions.

Place projects based on staffing levels and hard backlog, technology requirements and customer relationships.

Actively assess and manage project realization.

May serve on Customer Steering Committee or as strategic liaison for Data Management.

Manage staff in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable regulations.

Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work appraising performance and guiding professional development

Rewarding and disciplining employees

Addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems.

Approve actions on human resources matters.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree required, typically requires 10 years of prior relevant experience

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $168,000.00 - $312,000.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
