Job Details Position Summary: Catholic Health in Long Island seeks a dynamic, experienced Senior Director of Clinical Informatics. The Senior Director of Clinical Informatics is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the delivery and operations of all inpatient clinical systems across our health system. Reporting directly to the VP of Clinical Informatics, CNIO, this role is essential in driving strategic initiatives, optimizing our Epic EHR system, and ensuring seamless technology integration across clinical workflows. The ideal candidate will be a Registered Nurse (RN) with at least eight years of experience in healthcare EHR and IT operations, a strong background in Epic systems, and a proven track record in leadership, communication, and change management. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Management: Provide leadership and oversight for the Clinical Informatics department, managing a team of four direct reports responsible for various critical areas, including clinical documentation, clinical ordering, OR systems, and nursing informatics. Strategic Initiatives: Lead and drive key strategic initiatives, including Epic upgrades, Virtual Nursing, Clinical Mobile Companion, OR Optimization, and the integration of Vizient and Medisolv for quality management. Epic EHR Optimization: Oversee the optimization of the Epic EHR system, ensuring it supports all inpatient clinical operations, including nursing, physician orders, patient experience, infection control, and care management systems. Operations & Delivery: Ensure the effective delivery of clinical systems operations, improving patient safety, quality of care, and operational efficiency across all six hospitals. Change Management: Lead change management efforts for clinical systems, ensuring smooth transitions during system upgrades, new technology implementations, and process improvements. Collaboration & Communication: Liaison between the Clinical Systems department and other key stakeholders, including COOs, IT, and clinical teams, to ensure alignment and successful project delivery. Team Development: Mentor and develop the Clinical Systems team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Qualifications Education: Registered Nurse (RN) must have a minimum of a baccalaureate degree; a graduate degree in informatics is preferred. Preferred advanced certification in informatics (NI-BC, FAMIA, CPHIMSS) Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in healthcare EHR operations, with a strong focus on Epic systems. Experience in clinical informatics and digital nursing experiences is highly desirable. Competencies: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to guide and mentor a team. Strong understanding of IT governance, risk management, and compliance Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Expertise in change management, particularly in healthcare technology implementations. Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver results on time and within scope. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making. Ability to work in a hybrid environment, balancing remote and on-site responsibilities. Salary Range USD $200,000.00 - USD $211,000.00 /Yr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
