What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the VP, Commercial Banking Products, Solutions and Channels, as the Senior Director, Commercial Banking, Business Platform Management & Delivery, you will shape, define and build the Commercial Banking 3–5-year platform strategy supporting digital, non-assisted and assisted channels. In this role you will deliver and socialize against the CB roadmap, the set of capabilities, funding requirements, deliver & execute roadmaps in partnership with key stakeholders across all relevant partners at the bank as well as lead the development, communication, implementation and management of strategies, policies and programs related to CB platforms.

How you’ll succeed

Lead, design and manage - Lead, direct and manage all initiatives against the roadmap. Create and foster a team to support the successful ongoing management on the business side for all Commercial Banking platforms, systems and applications. Design, build and deploy KPI and dashboard reporting to provide senior leadership and executive teams with accurate and timely insights. Conduct research, data analysis and work session facilitation for large scale/complex proposals/initiatives, leading discussions with senior members of stakeholder groups to elicit and summarize and analyze information. Leverage a ‘one team’ approach to identify and prioritize capabilities, tactics and strategies that drive profitable revenue growth, adoption and usage of CB platforms (including digital) to support meeting client’s needs and in-turn frontline activities.

Review, refine and/or develop programs or services – Refine an operating structure within the context of broad organizational directions. Develop work plans, establish objectives, deadlines, and processes. Ensure a coherent and comprehensive approach to design and implementation of initiatives across business areas to increase efficiency and minimize cost.  Balance program initiatives with service demands to ensure cost containment. Monitor the performance of corporate strategies, policies and programs, to ensure the fulfilment of strategic objectives and regulatory requirements. 

Provide authoritative analysis, interpretation and opinion - Support and guide senior and executive management and client groups, ensuring an understanding and acceptance of issues and influence the direction and nature of corporate policy. Ensure that employees and partners are well informed of the function's strategic direction and operation. Prepare and present reports on significant trends. Develop and support high-level recommendations, approaches and solutions internally. Act as a resource on regulations, processes and procedures to other areas of CB Distribution and Channel Strategy and provide value-added consulting.

Lead and implement complex and/or large-scale strategies - Leverage a strong understanding of the industry and establish a forward-looking view that positions CIBC for sustained success, ensuring that CIBC advances digital banking. Assess market and emerging digital opportunities for increased revenue growth and enhanced client experiences. Contribute to effective processes for enhancing and maintaining Channel Strategy and Integration projects in accordance with the Methodology for Project Management.

Who You Are

You can demonstrate experience in project and program delivery. You have extensive financial industry knowledge and experience with Waterfall and Agile methodologies.

You’re digitally savvy. You have experience with data analytics and report building, demonstrated financial modelling skills in Excel and advanced presentations skills leveraging PowerPoint. You also can demonstrate deep knowledge of digital technologies, including browser-based applications, mobile devices and apps, wearables and client-server applications.

You're motivated by collective success. You can establish and build healthy working relations and senior leadership partnerships with clients, vendors and peers. You are able to manage relationships between various stakeholders and supplier groups.
