Job Title: Senior Director, Community, Support, & Supervision  

 

Job Summary:  

CASES is seeking a visionary and experienced Senior Director, Community Support & Supervision to lead a critical division dedicated to supporting individuals with behavioral health needs, including those experiencing homelessness, to avoid incarceration and achieve community stability. The Senior Director oversees five distinct programs: three Alternative-to-Incarceration (ATI) initiatives specializing in young adults and individuals with behavioral health needs, and two high-intensity care coordination programs for adults with serious mental illness, including those transitioning from state prison and/or eligible for Medicaid health home care management services.  

The Senior Director will inspire and mentor a team of 60 program staff, including a leadership team of one director and six team leaders. They will ensure the effective and efficient delivery of comprehensive case management and direct support services, leveraging electronic platforms. This role involves significant grant and contract management, with oversight and funding from entities such as the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice, the New York State Office of Mental Health, and the New York State Department of Health. 

 

Salary: The salary for the Senior Director, Community, Support, & Supervision is $125,000 per year.  

Shift Hours: This position is full-time working Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. 

Location Address: 2090 Adam Clayton Powell Jr Blvd, New York, NY 10027 - Some travel between agency offices and/or external meetings (less than 5% of work time). 

Workplace Flexibility: Flexible - (for roles that have days that can be partially remote, e.g., being able to draft notes at home after going to the office/community in the morning).  

 

What you will be doing:  

Provide visionary leadership to the division, inspiring staff to achieve the agency mission.  This division comprises five programs, including three Alternative-to-Incarceration programs (specializing in young adults and in people with behavioral health needs) and two high intensity care coordination programs for adults with serious mental illness (in state prison re-entry transition and/or eligible for Medicaid health home care management services) Supervise and mentor staff, set performance expectations, and conduct performance reviews.  There are currently 60 program staff in this division, including a leadership team of one director and six team leaders Stay up to date with technology tools and innovations that can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations. This program division uses the electronic platforms ECM (Salesforce database) and Foothold Technology (AWARDS and Relevant) Manage grants and contracts, ensuring compliance with reporting and funding requirements. Programs in this division have oversight and/or funding from the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice or the New York State Office of Mental Health. The Medicaid funded program is overseen by the New York State Department of Health and works with the Coordinated Behavioral Care lead health home. Manage division finances, including budgeting, financial reporting, and resource allocation, ensuring financial sustainability. The estimated budget for this program division this fiscal year is $10.3 million. Lead the development and expansion of programs and initiatives resulting in sustainable impact. 

 

What we are looking for:  

 Active New York State license (PysD/PhD, LCSW, LMHC) Five or more years of progressive management and leadership experience Clinical expertise in serving people with mental illness, addiction, homelessness, and trauma Experience serving people impacted by the criminal legal system through re-entry and/or alternative-to-incarceration programs Knowledge of Medicaid billing and compliance regulations Lived experience similar to that of our client population.Travel between agency offices and/or to external meetings
