Job Summary:
Blavity Inc. is looking for a Senior Director, Digital Operations & Strategy.This position leads the end-to-end strategic direction of branded and non-branded production across Blavity.com, 21Ninety, Travel Noire, and Home & Texture properties. The Senior Director of Digital Operations & Strategy will lead and set creative vision for branded campaigns, working closely with Editorial and Client Services to create best in class custom content for our partners. They will oversee our Editorial teams, allowing them to create quality content that is engaging, increases reader loyalty, and drives values to our audience.
This role will report directly to the Vice President, Digital Operations & Business Strategy.
Responsibilities:
Lead the ideation, development, and execution of multi-channel branded campaignsOversee the creation and optimization of organic content strategies across various digital propertiesDrive innovation in digital storytelling and content formats while maintaining brand consistencyCollaborate with Client Services and Sales teams to come up with the best possible creative solutions to maintain and grow client relationships during productionRepresent Blavity on client meetings to build and grow client relationships during long term custom content partnershipsOwn approvals for creative assets and campaign deliverables.Collaborate with senior leadership to develop organic content strategy that aligns with our brands’ mission and business objectivesCollaborate with cross-functional teams (audience development, data, engineering, creative operations etc.) to produce quality and engaging contentImprove existing content production workflows by integrating new tools or technology that will increase operational efficiency Leverage platforms such as Tableau and GA4 to analyze content performance and make data driven strategic shiftsReport regularly on performance highlighting wins and areas of improvementsIdentify new content opportunities consistently to stay on top of trends while also driving performanceQualifications:
Education: Bachelors in Business Management, Economic, Communications or Marketing Required Experience: 8+ yrs in at a digital agency role or digital media companySignificant experience creating marketing/advertising campaigns from developing vision, to the message platform, to overseeing production on-time and on-budgetPreferred Experience:5+ yrs managing people/teamsTechnologies: Fluent in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Asana, and/or comparable project management suiteAdditional Qualifications:Independent, entrepreneurial self-starter who is comfortable taking on a high level of responsibilityComfort with ambiguity and a proven love for transforming unorganized/complex data into rigorously structured, insight-oriented solutionsHigh-energy, company-first, positive attitude; must be motivated to work hard in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and analytical skills; outgoing and sociable; willing to wear multiple hats Naturally detail-oriented, with an obsessive need to document and communicate findingsA healthy appreciation of GIFs and Black cultureDetails:
This is a fully remote, U.S.- based role. Occasional travel may be required. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.Candidates must be available to work in 100% alignment with the Eastern Time Zone.
