Senior Director, Employee Communications & Engagement

General Description:
The Senior Director (SD) of Employee Communications and Engagement will lead and execute BeiGene’s internal communications strategy to drive employee engagement, alignment with corporate priorities, and a strong company culture. This role will oversee messaging, platforms, and campaigns that connect employees to the company’s mission, vision, ensuring communications are measurable, agile, and impactful.
Essential Functions:
Working closely with the CEO, Executive Team, HR, and Communications leaders, the SD will develop initiatives that foster understanding, collaboration, and storytelling across the organization. Responsibilities include leading enterprise-wide change communication, managing internal events (e.g., Town Halls, Enterprise Awards), and transforming communications platforms to support a two-way dialogue and inclusive culture.
The SD will provide strategic counsel on high-priority initiatives and champion employee engagement programs. They will also enhance BeiGene’s employer brand through digital and social channels, integrating leadership communications and corporate reputation goals.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Develop and implement a strategic internal communications plan aligned with corporate objectives.
+ Manage and modernize communication channels to improve accessibility, collaboration, and engagement.
+ Lead the creation of compelling content, including key messages, FAQs, intranet updates, and editorial features.
+ Plan and execute strategic events that promote dialogue and knowledge-sharing among employees.
+ Act as the central point for global announcements and strategic updates.
+ Guide communications responses during crises to protect organizational perception and reputation.
+ Track and analyze communication metrics to refine strategies and demonstrate impact.
+ Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing strategic counsel and thought leadership.

+ Proven success in leading internal communications strategies that align with business goals.
+ Expertise in change management, employee engagement, and communication platforms.
+ Skilled in advising executive leaders and navigating complex organizational dynamics.
+ Strong storytelling and writing abilities with a focus on digital and social media integration.
+ Collaborative team player with excellent judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to influence across all levels.

Minimum Requirements – Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field.
+ 15 years of corporate communications experience, including 5+ years in the pharma or biotech sector.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
+ Ability to work with C-Suite executives.
+ Ability to direct teams in a matrix environment.
