This centralized role serves as the functional interface with Global Supply Chain leadership and actively collaborates with the plant management team to support ongoing manufacturing performance metrics. Ideally this leader will be based in Minneapolis, MN, but we will also consider remote candidates. Responsibilities + Leads central engineering team supporting plant capital projects across our manufacturing network + Oversees the development and approval process for all Capital Requests within the platform and presents to leadership team for executive approval + Manages project coordination, prioritization and adherence to construction processes + Reviews and approves platform project scope, costs, & timing to assure quality execution + Formulates, implements, and audits policies and procedures to minimize risk exposure (financial, regulatory, customer) to company + Coordinates with Technology Development team, Health & Safety, Quality, and Operations to assure full cross functional alignment + Oversees external engineering support selection and execution performance + Directs all aspects for the modification, updates, and renovation of existing facilities + Directs overarching technical support to cross functional teams + Manages & develops direct and indirect staff of project engineers, supporting priority setting and performance management + Works with Global Supply Chain leadership to develop the annual capital budget and revised asset life-cycle management plan + Supports the corporate mission & purpose by demonstrated adoption within role. + Supports plant leadership to hire, develop, and assess on-site talent. + Responsible to conduct yourself and ensure your subordinates (if applicable) conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct. Preferred Qualifications + Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial or Process preferred). Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. + 15+ years experience in Manufacturing and Packaging Technologies. Previous experience with Food and Beverage or Consumer Packaged Goods companies required. + Experience managing operations and technical teams required. + Experience with budgeting in a manufacturing multi-site capacity required. + Strong problem-solving and technical skills; Demonstrated ability to provide both tactical and strategic leadership. + Excellent communication skills needed, and ability to build relationships and interact with individuals at all levels of an organization. + Passionate about leading people, training and developing a team of engineers. + Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time (to other manufacturing sites within North America, vendor facilities, construction sites, etc.) The employing subsidiaries of Schwan’s Company are Equal Employment Opportunity Employers.
