Join BeiGene's Global Data Strategy and Solutions team to help develop and implement an enterprise information architecture and roadmap that accelerates our mission to transform cancer therapy through trusted and timely data and insights. Reporting to the VP and Global Head of Data Strategy and Solutions, this critical role will have dual accountability for establishing the Enterprise Information Architecture (IA) capability at BeiGene and leading the information architecture for the R&D Domain—our key growth engine.
Collaboration is key—partnering with business and R&D stakeholders, functional D&A teams, and IT Business partners, you will create comprehensive information architecture and roadmaps aimed at enhancing data quality, accessibility, and governance, while establishing a streamlined data supply chain that drives operational efficiencies and informed business decisions. You will also oversee the architecture for key initiatives, ensuring alignment with our overarching information architecture standards and roadmap. You will also play a key role in advancing the data culture and governance at BeiGene by promoting data architecture best practices and articulating its value to stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will possess a strategic mindset, extensive experience in information architecture and data management, and strong leadership skills to mentor teams and foster cross-functional collaboration, preferably within the life sciences sector.
**Key Responsibilities** :
**Establish and Lead Enterprise Information Architecture Capability**
+ Create and introduce an enterprise information management framework and repeatable methodologies, practices and artifacts for creating comprehensive information architecture and strategy to improve data findability, information flow, data quality, and data usability.
+ Develop a repository of key data domains, business information entities, and reusable data assets/products with key metadata that describe BeiGene's enterprise information landscape.
+ Establish enterprise practices and standards to ensure data assets/products are FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) through metadata management, data quality, and interoperability standards, driving their adoption across the organization.
+ Provide consultative support to business and technology leaders, integrating information strategies with their business strategies and advising on best practices in data architecture and management.
+ Promote architectural standards to ensure consistent data management practices, efficient lifecycle management, and seamless data consumption, including creating reference architectures for common data integration, data engineering and analytics patterns.
+ Partner with architects, system owners, and IT Business Partners to drive the realization and adoption of information architecture patterns and standards.
+ Scale the information architecture capability across key functional areas by mentoring and building a team of domain-focused information architects.
**Lead R&D Domain Information Architecture and Strategy**
+ Leverage the Enterprise Information Management framework to establish and maintain the information architecture, landscape and roadmap for R&D Information Domains.
+ Design and maintain a robust information architecture that maps the lifecycle of data creation, update, deletion, and utilization (CRUD) across R&D’s business capabilities and processes.
+ Identify key business information entities (including master and reference data), data domains, and reusable data assets/products, establishing ownership and stewardship in alignment with business stakeholders.
+ Define data and quality requirements to support operational, analytical, and strategic needs, ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
+ Define a comprehensive roadmap to address data and data quality gaps, including measurable milestones and outcomes.
+ Lead the architecture, design and oversee implementation of master and reference data initiatives and work with stakeholders to facilitate their adoption and use within R&D.
+ Shape and lead critical data and analytics initiatives and oversee their implementation to deliver expected business outcomes.
+ Actively participate in solution architecture and engineering efforts across projects to drive adoption of established patterns, ensuring scalability, reliability, and sustainability of information systems.
+ Prioritize data and analytics related project and service demand from R&D against the overall information roadmap to ensure alignment with business objectives.
+ Capture and articulate business value delivered.
**Evolve Information Capabilities and Innovation**
+ Collaborate with Data Platform Lead to continuously assess and enhance BeiGene’s information and platform capabilities to meet business needs and leverage technological advancements.
+ Utilize Generative AI and knowledge graph technologies to improve data findability and accessibility, ensuring efficient information utilization.
+ Simplify the adoption of Generative AI at BeiGene by enhancing the data supply chain and enabling seamless integration with RAG and Agentic AI architecture patterns.
+ Establish a Community of Practice for information architecture, creating a reference architecture for data integration, engineering, and analytics patterns.
**Champion Data Culture and Governance:**
+ Promote a culture of data literacy and accountability across the organization, empowering stakeholders to effectively utilize data as a strategic asset.
+ Collaborate with Enterprise and Federated Data Governance leads and participate in governance committees to establish data ownership and stewardship for critical data assets and develop data governance policies.
+ Capture and articulate value delivered through information strategy and data initiatives.
**Required Education:**
+ Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information science, computer science, data management, or a related field.
**Qualifications:**
+ BA/BS/MA/MS/MBA in information science, computer science, data management, or a related field with 12+ years of experience across disciplines, including enterprise architecture, master data management, information architecture, and large-scale data initiatives.
+ Strong leadership experience and skills in MDM, Data Quality, Information Governance, Data Modeling, Information Architecture, and Metadata management.
+ At least 5 years of experience in an information architect or strategist role, delivering architecture blueprints and roadmaps that drive tangible business transformation.
+ Recognized expertise in implementing modern data management frameworks and operating models, such as data products, data mesh, data fabric, and data lakehouse.
+ Familiarity and experience working with cloud based data and analytics platforms – DataBricks, Azure Synapse, data governance and cataloging tools (e.g. Collibra and Informatica), enterprise integration tools, LLMs, RAG, Agentic architectures, ontologies, taxonomies, knowledge graph, etc.
+ Strong business acumen to align data strategies with organizational objectives, particularly in R&D and clinical domains.
+ Proven track record of delivering successful outcomes in entrepreneurial and dynamic environments, managing multiple stakeholders effectively.
+ Excellent leadership skills to articulate a clear vision and inspire collaboration at all organizational levels.
+ Demonstrated ability to simplify complex topics for diverse audiences and foster a data-driven culture within cross-functional teams.
**Travel:**
+ 5-10% to collaborate with distributed teams in US and globally.
