The team you will be a part of The Information Systems team is responsible for implementation of the enterprise architecture and the development and maintenance of the organization's computing/IT environment. Determines and develops architectural approaches and solutions, conducts business reviews, documents current systems and develops recommendations of how to proceed with the applications.This role in summaryWe are seeking a Senior Director, Enterprise Architecture and Infrastructure Solutions (EAIS), joining the dynamic Whirlpool technology leadership team. Reporting directly to the Global Chief Information Officer, you'll be at the forefront of driving a digital transformation across the enterprise. Your task will be to lead and mature the architecture practice accountable for shaping the next generation of systems tied to Whirlpool’s key strategies and imperatives. While leading a global team, the Senior Director, EAIS will drive the vision and strategy with targeted outcomes and apply existing, new and emerging technologies to evolving organizational needs.
Your responsibilities will include Lead the development of talent and create a strong technical talent pipeline for the organization.Assists IT Leadership with defining the long-term strategic objectives of our technology solutions, developing the vision and roadmap of the company's business systems portfolio, determining the strategic life cycle of technology assets and ensure seamless integration of infrastructure components.Ensure alignment of IT technology strategy and planning with Whirlpool’s goals.Clearly communicate the vision and target state and influence the adoption of enterprise architecture principles, patterns, reference architecture and standards to demonstrate progress on technology maturity.Manage the IT budget for infrastructure and architecture and benchmark and elevate the quality and costs of IT operations, leveraging global and regional talent to operate under global standards for performance and quality.Display strong knowledge of EA and Solution Architecture frameworks and best practice with awareness of current trends for new architectural patterns and concepts and the ability to apply those patterns and trends to help achieve our business-focused transformation outcomes.Execute assessments of existing systems and applications and provide architectures that are secure, scalable, and highly resilient while optimizing costs through analysis of usage patterns and trends.Oversee IT production environment capacity and performance, including cloud, IoT Platforms, networks, middleware, collaboration / productivity platforms and services provided to Whirlpool Corporation.Day to day application support outsourcing relationships with many major suppliers including SAP, Google, Amazon Web Services, IBM, Accenture and others.Lead architects and system engineers to design, implement, and maintain Whirlpool's enterprise infrastructure, enterprise cloud technologies and solutions for scalability, flexibility, and efficiency, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability.Develop and maintain cloud-based documentation, including architecture diagrams, policies and procedures, and training materials.Maintain and evolve IT processes to support Whirlpool information technology operational needs, including services design, transition and operations. Ensure internal teams and suppliers compliance with IT Services Management (ITSM) processes.Sponsor agile initiatives and foster the necessary environment that evolves the operational culture from traditional services to dev-ops to no-ops, through processes evolution, technology simplification and automation.Minimum requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 15+ years of experience in IT leadership roles in global or large scale enterprise operations, with a focus on enterprise infrastructure, architecture, and cloud technologies.7+ years of experience with managing complex teams demonstrating the following: strong leadership, people management skills and experience with cross-functional partnership to drive positive outcomes.Proven experience coaching, mentoring, and developing members of an organization to continue to grow and develop business and technical aptitude.Led global team of internal and contracted staff to execute portfolio change management work focused on mentoring and development of employees for continued career development.Proven experience in enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies.Knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics. Demonstrated experience partnering across functions with leaders on ITSM related issues.Experience implementing global IT Operations ProcessesUnderstanding of business models, operating models, financial models, cost-benefit analysis, budgeting, and risk management. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate business goals into actionable IT strategies. Demonstrated experience using data-driven insights to determine informed decision making. Excellent written and oral communication skills.Preferred skills and experiences Deep knowledge of business processes and technical capabilities, preferably in manufacturing or consumer goods industry is preferred.Master's degree.Full Infrastructure as Code through Azure Dev OpsExpertise in AWS cloud services and SAP technologies.Strong consulting skills such as targeted communications, engagement management, stakeholder management, facilitation, negotiation and business development. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
