OverviewThe Senior Director, Finance Systems and Data Analytics will oversee the management, optimization, and integration of financial systems and data analytics processes to support decision-making, improve financial reporting, and enhance operational efficiencies. This role is critical in ensuring that financial systems are properly aligned with business needs, are fully functional, and provide accurate and timely data insights. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in finance systems, data analytics, and a deep understanding of how financial data drives business performance.
ResponsibilitiesFinance Systems Management:
Lead the administration and optimization of financial systems (e.g., ERP, FP&A, accounting software) to ensure they meet the needs of the business and finance department.Oversee system updates, integration, and process automation, ensuring that systems are operating efficiently and remain scalable as the business grows.Serve as the subject matter expert for financial software and systems, providing troubleshooting, support, and training to the finance team.
Data Analytics & Reporting:
Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of data analytics tools and dashboards for financial reporting, ensuring accurate and timely data delivery.Develop and implement advanced data models to analyze financial performance, track key metrics, and drive insights into business operations.Automate and streamline financial reporting processes using tools such as Power BI, Tableau or other business intelligence software.Produce and present actionable insights from financial data that can influence key business decisions and drive business growth.
Process Automation & Integration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., IT, operations) to integrate financial data systems with other business systems for better data flow and reporting.Identify opportunities for automation in the finance function to reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, and streamline reporting.Work with IT to ensure data security, governance, and compliance with relevant financial regulations.
Business Partnering & Collaboration:
Partner with FP&A, accounting, and other departments to understand their data needs and deliver tailored solutions that support business performance.Support senior leadership with strategic financial insights by transforming raw data into actionable reports and business intelligence.Provide recommendations on optimizing financial operations and systems based on data analytics.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead a team of finance systems and data analysts, providing mentorship and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the finance team is leveraging the most efficient tools and techniques for data analysis and system optimization.
Ad-Hoc Analysis and Projects:
Lead ad-hoc data analysis projects, including the development of financial forecasts, profitability models, and scenario planning.Provide analytical support for strategic initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, and other special projects.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA or CPA is a plus).Experience:
10+ years of experience in finance systems management, data analytics, or related fields, with a proven track record of working with financial software and driving data analysis initiatives.Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, etc).Solid experience with data visualization, financial modeling, and advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, formulas, macros).Strong experience in automating and optimizing financial reporting processes.
Skills:
Advanced skills in data analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau), and business intelligence platforms.In-depth knowledge of financial systems, including integrations with other business applications.Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis techniques.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex financial data and present it clearly.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical data insights to non-technical stakeholders.Strong experience with Repeat Process Automation (RPA).
