Reporting to the Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis, the Senior Director, Government Pricing is responsible for ensuring Government Pricing calculations for Akebia’s approved products are performed accurately and reported / submitted in a timely manner in accordance with reporting guidelines and best practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Overseeing, managing and reviewing government pricing calculations and submissions for programs administered by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Public Health Services 340B drug discount program and Federal Supply Schedule programs, and other federal and state programs. Ensuring that policies (including new regulations), procedures, and processes supporting the Government Price calculations are followed to ensure ongoing compliance with both internal and external requirements and guidance. Evaluating and completing all State Price Transparency reporting, including price evaluation and new product reporting. Managing NAVLIN (Eversana) payment and reporting system and leading potential implementation of systems across the various calculations, using outsourced business processes as needed, to optimize government price reporting processes and minimize risks. Evaluating new and modified public payer price concession programs, performing risk assessments, creating operational processes and SOPs, and providing training to business partners as needed. Serving as the subject matter expert on pricing issues across functions, including but not limited to Legal, Compliance, Trade, Managed Markets, IT, Finance, and Accounting regarding matters impacting the government pricing calculations. Providing strategic guidance on the impact of pricing decisions on Government reporting and calculations. Initiate and manage the annual FSS FAR compliance review with cross-functional stakeholders for SAM.gov certification. Preparing and maintaining documentation related to Government Price calculation methodology and decisions. Overseeing the payment of all Government rebates, including the analysis and processing of all rebate invoices received by customers. Supporting pricing strategy and informing Pricing Committee decisions on price changes, as needed. Communicating price and price changes to external databases and other stakeholders as required. Monitoring legislation and Pricing & Reimbursement trends and assessing strategic and operational implications Collaborating with Accounting team on monthly close to ensure Gross-to-Net accuracy for government price-related items.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required 10+ years’ experience in Government Pricing, Finance, and / or Accounting in the Biotech / Pharmaceutical industry Experience with Medicare Average Sales Price reporting, Medicaid Drug Rebate program, Average Manufacturer Price (AMP), Nonfederal Average Manufacturer Price (NFAMP), Unit Rebate Amount (URA) calculations, NFAMP, State Price Transparency, Compliance, Order to Cash & Chargeback processesPreferred:

Targeted Base: $213,771-$264,070
*Base Compensation for this role will depend on a number of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. Base pay is only one component of the company’s total rewards package, all regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or the incentive compensation program (if applicable), as well as equity.
