Position Summary

 

The Senior Director, Materials role will oversee PG&E’s Inventory and Supply Chain Management activities with heavy emphasis on Internal Client Support, Demand and Supply Planning, Inventory Forecasting and Management, Replenishment Planning, Materials Delivery Coordination, Supply & Operations Planning process, Investment Recovery, Vendor’s Fulfillment and others Supply Chain Improvement and Performance Management activities. Responsibilities include leading and championing a zero-incident safety environment and leading various process improvement projects and deliverables in support of PG&E’s goals and objectives.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and the Oakland Headquarter office based on business needs.

 

 

Reporting Relationship

 

The Senior Director, Materials will report to the Senior Vice President, Enterprise Service Delivery.

 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

Drives initiatives for network optimization, coordinating cross-functional teams to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels across the supply chain, while ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Champions the development and execution of an integrated business plan that aligns with Sales, Inventory, Operations Planning (SIOP) processes, ensuring seamless coordination between demand forecasting, inventory management, and procurement activities. Manages, develops and integrates Supplier Quality Management Strategies: leads the execution of comprehensive supplier quality management frameworks to ensure the reliability and performance of materials, driving continuous improvement and fostering strong supplier partnerships. Fosters collaboration among various functions within the team and greater enterprise, including Operations, Procurement, Logistics, to ensure a cohesive approach to materials management that supports overall business objectives. Establishes and maintains effective partnerships with LOBs aimed at identifying and understanding the needs of the business and obtains their feedback on the quality and costs of such services. Develops and executes short- and long-term plans within the resource requirements and budget to meet department goals and objectives including cost savings, customer service, employee engagement, supplier diversity, green procurement and safety. Develops and implements policies, procedures, and standards to promote cost-effective performance of all planning, management, and operating activities. Directs staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, promotion of safety practices, performance management and coaching, and rewards and recognition.

Compensation

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

 

A reasonable salary range is:

 

Bay Area Minimum: $ 201,000

Bay Area Maximum: $ 343,000

 

 

 

Background Qualifications

 

Minimum

 

Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management or related field. 10+ years of leadership experience in materials or related industry.

 

Desired

 

MBA in business or related business field. Project Management experience. Utility industry experience. Lean Six Sigma certification. APICS or CPM certification. Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Knowledge of ERP systems (Preferred: SAP). Knowledge of process improvement disciplines (TQM, Lean, Lean Six Sigma). Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Knowledge of personal computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Knowledge of SAP MRP or SAP APO/R3 implementation.
