Senior Director, Medical Affairs Iberia - Barcelona - Spain
Mission

Develop and execute local medical strategies aligned with global strategic plans, providing inspirational leadership to local medical teams, especially MSL teams. Lead local real-world evidence (RWE) activities and ensure local market insights inform global strategies. Additionally, the role includes compliance responsibilities and, beyond core medical affairs activities, may encompass aspects of regulation, pharmacovigilance, medical information and commercial training. 
Direct reporting to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and an indirect reporting line to Iberia's General Manager.
Member of Iberia leadership team and Global Medical Affairs leadership team, providing strategic view, cross-functional support to the other members, participating and facilitating the decision-making.

Tasks and Responsibilities: Develop and execute the medical strategy in collaboration as a key member of the global medical leadership team. Create a medical activity plan for the Market Companies (MCs) in line with the overall GMA strategy. Manage and own the medical budget for the Market Companies (Spain and Portugal). Lead and direct the local medical affairs function operationally, defining a governance plan to ensure alignment between global and local medical strategies. Implement a highly effective MSL and Medical Organization, including also clinical studies medical information and commercial training. Ensure timely execution of deliverables assigned to Physicians in the Market Companies (MCs). Foster the professional development of medical colleagues in the Market Companies (MCs) through performance management, talent planning, and training/mentoring tools and best practices. Act as a compliance advocate and ensure that countries and company standards and regulations are met.

 

Stakeholder Interaction:

Ensure strategic alignment and close collaboration with local and cross-functional internal teams (R&D, Medical Affairs, Compliance, Brand Teams, Market Companies, Digital, Regulatory, Safety, and Market Access). Gain market knowledge through an extensive network of contacts with key local stakeholders, such as Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), attending conferences, and scientific meetings. Qualifications and Experience Medical or scientific degree. Over 5 years of experience in medical affairs, in a country leadership position. Product launch experience, desirable in Biologics. Knowledge of the Spanish market. Knowledge of the Portuguese market a plus. In-depth knowledge of Dermatology highly desirable. Demonstrated success in team leadership. Proven ability to build internal/external relationships. Proven ability to work effectively in matrix models Skills and Behaviors: Ability to multitask and deliver results ("finisher").
