What you'll do...
Sam’s Club is Member obsessed and growing fast. Increasing our Membership base sits at the core of the company’s growth. As Senior Director of Membership Partnerships at Sam’s Club, you will sit at the heart of member obsession by enabling value-added partnerships that drive both Membership Signups and Retention/Renewals. We are looking for a leader to continue Sam’s Club’s innovation in membership rewards, including industry-leading offerings that provide potential prospects additional reasons to join Sam’s Club, for current members to earn rewards in the Club and through partner purchases outside of the Club. Success in this role involves leading a team that partners with both third parties and collaborates internally with other partner-facing teams to drive value. This position will work in Bentonville, Arkansas and report to the VP of Membership. This is a highly visible and influential role.
What you'll do:
Lead Strategy: Build the membership partnership strategy and obtain leadership alignment on the direction.Grow the Partnership portfolio and its impact: Lead a team in charge of identifying, negotiating, creating, and closing new membership partnership opportunities across multiple verticals.Influence Cross-functionally: build, socialize, and action a membership partnership playbook that enables a suite of ways in which we can partner externally to drive member acquisition and retention. Use this playbook to socialize across other externally-facing areas of Sam’s Club (e.g. Merchandising, Retail Media) to increase opportunities to grow membership. Closely partner with internal cross-functional teams to explore and accelerate new opportunities into fully developed business plans.Drive innovation and adoption of Sam’s Cash: develop a strategic roadmap to drive membership utility, loyalty and revenue. Help make Sam’s Cash a way for other teams across Sam’s Club to increase member value through partnerships, and a top reason that members upgrade and renew their memberships.Grow Sam’s Club Bonus Offers: build and grow the Sam’s Club Bonus Offers program, a card-linked offer program that allows members to earn for everyday purchases outside of Sam’s Club. Turn the program into a key driver of membership value and a top reason for membership renewal. Find new partners and offers, drive awareness/adoption, create member love, drive the innovation roadmap, merchandise and market the product, and build relationships with key parties that lead to significant growth of the program.Loyalty Innovation: Continued innovation of the Sam’s Club Membership that regularly exceeds Members’ expectations by examining and integrating business opportunities, Member needs, competitor and industry trends, building business cases, and ultimately implementing recommendations that drive loyalty.Financial performance: Manage budgets and P&L performance for Rewards programs and drive financial success by meeting financial objectives and impacting Membership KPIs.Satisfaction: Become Member obsessed by focusing on Member satisfaction, and Member NPS – making Sam’s Club membership the most recommended membership in retail.What you'll bring:
You are thrilled at the thought of managing and growing new products and initiatives from infancy through to hyper-growth.8+ years of solid business development and strategic, sales experience ideally within the Retail industry, encompassing strategy, ecommerce, merchandising, marketing, and/or consumer experience; strong in business strategy, go-to-market planning and negotiation.You know how to identify business value and create compelling business cases to gain alignment for new initiativesYou know how to manage a P&L and utilize performance to drive your strategic roadmapYou thrive in an environment where you have the freedom, scope and responsibility to find innovative ways to impact the businessYou are a polished communicator who can communicate data and information in a clear and concise fashion. The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00-$260,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
