Senior Director, Privacy and Data Ethics

All of the following will be part of the employee’s direct responsibilities and/or as part of their scope of oversight as manager of the US Data Ethics Team:

Serve as the primary point of contact for data privacy matters, providing expert legal advice to internal teams and senior management.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., legal, product, engineering, marketing, sales) to integrate privacy considerations into business processes.Conduct and oversee privacy assessments of products, data flows, use cases, and contract terms.Provide privacy law expertise in support of commercial teams (i.e., sales) and LiveRamp customers.Act as a liaison to industry groups on matters related to data privacy and protection.Provide support for privacy-related regulatory inquiries, litigation, and other legal matters.Develop, implement, and maintain privacy-related policies and procedures.Assess new privacy laws and advise the company on compliance obligations.Keep privacy-related contract terms up to date and in compliance with changing laws.Provide live and written privacy training and education to employees and customers.Provide counsel for teams processing consumer rights requests.Monitor and stay current with evolving privacy laws, regulations, and best practices to ensure the company’s privacy program remains up-to-date and effective.Prepare and present reports to management on the status of the company’s privacy program and compliance efforts.

Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law.A minimum of 10 years experience in privacy law and technology.Proven experience managing a privacy program for a large data or technology company. Experience drafting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs).Familiar with global data protection laws and regulations.Experience managing cross-functional projects across business, commercial, product, engineering, legal, and other support teams to facilitate practical solutions that mitigate privacy risks.Experience working with regulatory authorities and handling privacy-related investigations or inquiries.Strong business acumen with the ability to understand and evaluate engineering decisions and their impacts on solutions.Experienced with complex data projects with knowledge of data architecture, data flows, and cloud services.Able to work effectively with technical and business teams to develop collaborative solutions.Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or similar certification.

The approximate annual base compensation range is $250,000 to $300,000. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, geography, as well as internal equity among our team.
