Job Posting Description:

The Senior Director, Resource Protection reports to the Chief Retail Officer (CRO) and leads the Resource Protection (RP) team, overseeing security, loss prevention, and asset protection across the enterprise. You will collaborate with all partners, including the CEO, executive leadership, the LCBO Board, the Union, and law enforcement.

Important responsibilities include managing RP operations and programs aligned with LCBO’s strategic goals. You will oversee the RP team, working with divisions such as Retail, Supply Chain, Real Estate, eCommerce, Internal Audit, Legal, Risk and Insurance, Workplace Wellness, and HR. The RP team focuses on crime trend management, security technology, and investigations, delivering value to customers and partners.

The position partners with LCBO leadership to improve financial performance, customer experience, and employee satisfaction while driving loss mitigation strategies.

About the Role

Lead RP Program Management (20%)

Create the RP Strategy including programs required to achieve LCBOs annual sales and profitability to support the LCBO Strategic Plan.Create and achieve safety, shrink, training, and operational goals that enhance margin and profitability while limiting expenses and liability.Lead our criminal investigative needs, including providing investigative coaching and support for internal or external partners.Ensure that investigations are conducted in a manner consistent with organizational values and within ethical and legal boundaries.Responsible for the LCBO Incident Reporting System, ensuring review and analysis of reports about criminal matters, both internal and external, related to LCBO property or employees,’ and that they are forwarded for appropriate investigation or follow up.

Embed Resource Protection and Loss Prevention Strategies into all aspects of LCBO Operations - (30%)

Develop and implement mitigation strategies to reduce risk and improve employee safety and the customer experience.Provide strategic leadership on the strategy to mitigate risk, reduce loss, maintain continuity of operations, and safeguard LCBO staff, customers, and assets.Direct all physical security infrastructure (Intrusion devices, CCTV, Access Control) and ensure the solutions are laid out, configured, installed, and maintained at all LCBO facilities for maximum impact and to reduce organizational risk and liability

People Leadership – (20%)

Lead and inspire a team; establish clear direction of responsibilities and goals.Establish goals to support our corporate and RP’s strategy.Provide leadership, coaching, and career planning to direct reports within LCBO’s talent-focused framework, designed to engage its employees.Advocate for change to meet and evolve the RP standards to operate in a volatile and at times disruptive context while ensuring the health and safety of employees, customers, and third-party contractors at all times.Build a team which respects diversity, inclusion, belonging, and equity including hiring, orienting, training, conducting performance reviews.Develop staff in identifying RP and security practices throughout the organization to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure and liability.

Guide and evolve the RP Function to support strategic goals – (30%)

Present the strategic goals for the Resource Protection Department in-line with corporate goals and ensure they are implemented across the enterpriseLead the business to prepare for future challenges and projects in asset protection, ensuring that all channels have the knowledge necessary to navigate new and volatile requirements and changes in the evolving business strategy.Assure the adequacy, currency, and reliability of all security critical technologies, including LCBO Central Alarm Monitoring Station (CAMS) and others, to safeguard LCBO assets, facilities, employees, and customers and ensuring these technologies are operationally efficient.Monitor security/loss prevention industry trends, changes and the evolution of security technology and create strategies for improvement and modernization utilizing new technology.

About You

Post-secondary education in Business, Law, or Security Administration or other completed bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent professional experience.A minimum of 15 years of experience in the private security, law enforcement, retail loss prevention or a related sector, with at least 10 years in a significant leadership role (Inspector or higher preferred). Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training will be considered.Extensive experience developing Relationships within a multi-unit Retail and Unionized environment.Substantial experience leading resource protection (RP) operations/asset protection in a multi-channel environment that has both brick-and-mortar and direct-to-consumer/business.Relevant experience with POS, resource protection technology, alarm systems, and electronic article surveillance systems.Experience in budget management, RFP’s, P&L statements, and financial planning knowledge.Experience in resource protection management with ability to conduct complex and sensitive investigations.Demonstrated project management experience.Related experience in policy and program development.
