Senior Director, Sales

The Senior Director, Sales, identifies and develops strategic relationships with partners and potential customers. Is responsible, along with overall sales team, for company meeting annual defined pipeline and sales objectives in target markets.

Primary Position Tasks:

Works directly with CIO'S, CTO’s and other IT Staff to find the needs of the department.Assists in the development of a strong pipeline of new customers and projects in accounts through direct and indirect customer contact and prospecting.Prepares non-disclosure and teaming agreements with potential new partners.Works with marketing, capture, and other technical staff to implement business development initiatives.Conducts market analysis; develop sales strategy, goals and plans.Creates and close new direct client opportunities via extensive customer calls and meetingsNurtures and expand partner relationships and create new partner opportunitiesJoins industry groups and attend industry networking events such as WITI, TechAmerica, EMC get togethers, etc. Demonstrate ability to put together compressive account plans and strategyDemonstrate the ability to sell professional and managed servicesGreat insight into industry trends for cloud computing, consumptive models and creative financing optionsDemonstrates a consultative sales approach by possessing a detailed understanding of the marketplace along with the business acumen to solve customer problemsFamiliar with existing industry CRM applicationsActively engaged in pipeline development, opportunity management/forecasting and demand generationFamiliar with OEM business processes negotiating discount structuresAbility to demonstrate strong presentation skills and lead customer facing meetingsMid-level certifications in OEM training programsEstablish sales processes, including market positioningResponsible for relationship development to build a sales pipelineGeneration of teaming arrangements and bid strategyEstablish and cultivate the sales pipeline for tangible opportunities based on current marketBuild a national go-to-market strategy, including elaboration of market verticals, product offerings and account penetration/expansion strategyOther business duties as assigned

Minimum Education/Certification/Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree preferredMinimum of five years of outside selling in the IT market Extensive relationships with relevant technology partners and customersMust be able to proactively network, prospect, and sell to multiple contacts including “C” levelsDemonstrated consistent and successful achievement of quota versus planThis position has significant incentive opportunity through successful revenue/margin attainment

Preferred Education/Certification/Experience:

Previous sales experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong writing skills requiredSome previous understanding of government and technology strongly preferredWillingness to prospect aggressivelyAbility to create and deliver compelling presentationsCapability to research targets, opportunities, funding streams, etc.Willingness to take direction and learn

Essential Elements (Mental; Physical; Equipment used):

This position is an office position that requires remaining in a stationary position for multiple hours throughout the workday.

This position requires the ability to continuously communicate with co-workers throughout the day utilizing Red River approved and/or provided communication tools and equipment.

Special Requirements:
This position will operate from the location specified above, with up to 50% travel to customer and partner sites.
