**Position Overview**
The Senior Director, Strategic Product Management is a senior role anchored in the Marketing team reporting into the VP of Marketing. In this role, you will lead and own the profitability and growth strategy of the modality (Mammalian Cell Culture, Microbial, Advanced Therapies or Drug Product/Finished Goods), and will be responsible for the successful realization of our Partners for Life Strategy and our aspiration to quadruple our revenue by 2030.
You will lead the cross-functional modality team with representation from all key functions, including but not limited to: Finance, Marketing, Communications, Commercial, Operations (sites), Process Development, Global Engineering, Quality (QA/QC/Regulatory), KojoX Strategy (innovative, modular operational delivery ecosystem), Business Intelligence & Insights, Business Development, and Science & Innovation.

**Job Description**
In this role, you will be an expert in the market landscape including competitors and customers, participate in determining where and how FDB should play within the market to deliver a cohesive strategy and differentiated offering for the assigned modality. You will be leading the establishment of and delivery on the dedicated end-to-end modality strategy together with the cross-functional team. You must ensure the involvement, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration and coordination required to drive high performance. The Strategy must ensure a strong value proposition differentiating FDB from competition. The Strategy shall define the ambition, set the strategic goals and priorities, and align with an actionable KojoX strategy (our operational philosophy and delivery excellence ecosystem), and set the strategic goals. The Strategy will be presented to the Strategy Decision Forum and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) for input and approval, including investment requirements.
As the Senior Director, you are responsible for delivering on the service line financial MTP/LTP goals, our KojoX strategy, and the 2030 Partners for Life strategy. Together with the cross-functional team you will ensure that we deliver on and own the modality strategy, develop solutions to increase efficiency, and ensure that all customer facing activities align with the overall strategy.
In this highly visible role, you will advise and support allocation and management of resources, including budget, personnel and technology to support the approved strategy. As a Senior Director, you will have P&L transparency and the ability to have a significant effect using your highly consultative and influencing skills without having direct authority.
The successful candidate will focus on modality strategy and life cycle management, cross-functional team leadership, and organizational alignment ensuring that all strategies and tactics implemented across the modality are customer-centric and deliver value to the target audience.
**Principal Accountabilities**
+ Develop and continuously maintain an updated modality strategy based on market insights, detailing and recommending where FDB should position itself and how to grow profitability within the modality.
+ Analyze insights on market, competitors, and customer needs to identify business synergies, opportunities, dependencies, improvements, market expansions, or acquisition targets that address roadmap strategy and provide a competitive advantage within the modality.
+ Ensure all operational, marketing and commercial efforts are aligned, customer-centric and deliver value to the target audience and meet sales and profitability goals.
+ Present business case, strategy, and future roadmap recommendations, to the Strategy Decision Forum and ELT for input and approval, including investment requirements.
+ Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure successful prioritization and implementation of aligned tactics in support of the approved modality strategy and roadmap. Develop and socialize a launch playbook to train internal teams on the approved strategy and tactics.
+ Ensure organizational alignment between the modality strategy, KojoX and our Partners for Life strategies.
+ Ensure modality roadmap priorities reflect and are revised for continuous improvement to account for market, customer and competitive insights. Ensure roadmap priorities are reflected in innovation, business development, and marketing strategies.
+ Define, deliver, and optimize modality strategy value proposition with the Marketing and Commercial teams to ensure alignment with customer segmentation, go-to-market strategy and tactics. Create evidence-based proof points and case studies that differentiate our offerings.
+ Collaborate with our Business Development team on business expansion initiatives; perform gap analyses to determine where the Company can become more competitive and how we strengthen our overall business strategy.
+ Support the development and implementation of dedicated marketing and commercial strategies that align with the overall modality strategy and business goals. Collaborate with commercial to ensure a robust sales pipeline that can fill the service line manufacturing capacity (short, mid, and long term).
+ Participate in strategic commercial dialogues with key partners and provide technical expertise to sales teams and customers as needed.
+ Create, maintain, and continuously improve modality roadmaps to ensure alignment with market, customer and competitive insights, capacity of operational footprint and budgets.
+ Drive P/L (Revenue, ROS, PM, EBITDA etc.) transparency and insights for continued financial performance improvement.
+ Track and report operational performance (KPIs) to ensure high customer trust and satisfaction.
+ Collaborate as needed to develop key areas of improvement and focus to deliver the Partners for Life strategy, with an ongoing engagement of and partnership with ELT.
+ Provide modality strategy and life cycle management and lead new service line offering development through leadership of a cross-functional team.
+ Perform other activities as assigned.
**Background Requirements and Education** :
+ Bachelor’s degree required in business administration, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field (preferred). Master’s degree preferred.
+ 15+ years of experience with business strategy leadership.
+ Proven experience in a role to manage cross-functional teams and drive process improvements.
+ Proven experience in product life cycle processes and management, product service offering development and launch.
+ Advanced experience in project management and process improvement, including planning, executing, and monitoring projects, is essential. Familiarity with methodologies like Agile or Lean can be particularly beneficial.
+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively with various departments, such as sales, operations, and customer service, to ensure cohesive strategy execution required.
+ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely.
+ Proficiency in creating visually compelling presentations using tools like Microsoft PowerPoint.
+ Demonstrated presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse audiences.
+ Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
+ Strategic thinker with analytical capabilities to gather and synthesize information into insights for decision-making.
+ Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
+ Advanced understanding of confidentiality.
+ A broad and sufficiently deep end-to-end understanding of the product service line area (Mammalian Cell Culture, Advanced Therapies, Drug Product/Finished Goods, or Microbial) as well as knowledge of the pharmaceutical value chain of our customers
+ Strong business acumen

Although this may be a remote posting, the incumbent must reside within a reasonable commuting distance from one of theFDB US locations. The US salary range for this position is $220,000 to $300,000. Pay within this range varies by worklocation and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
