Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$150,000 - $220,000

Job Description

Responsibilities:

The Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) is a field-based role responsible for thought leader engagement and peer-to-peer (P2P) education within Lilly’s Gastroenterology (GI) portfolio from prelaunch to commercialization, including line extensions. This role closely partners with the GI Customer Strategy Head Senior Director to develop and run educational engagement strategies for Gastroenterologists, Advanced Practice Providers (Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants), and Key Office Immunology staff (KOS) across our GI portfolio. This role has both an internal as well as external facing component. Internally, this role requires strong cross-functional skills to partner with brand teams, medical, compliance, external vendors, and others in the development, implementation, and execution of the P2P and Congress strategy. Externally, this job includes interaction, coaching, development and support of contracted thought leaders (TLs) on a regular basis as well as attendance at GI Congresses. All interactions must be consistent with commercial compliance, regulatory, and legal guidelines. Encompassing a variety of focus areas, it is vital the TLL has strong attention to detail and the ability to adeptly manage many projects simultaneously. Responsibilities include:

Commercial Thought Leader Engagement and Faculty Support (50%)

Identification, development, and ongoing evaluation of 30-40 Gastroenterology Thought Leaders (TLs), including HCPs and Key Office Staff, within a specified geographic areaEvaluate, coach and support speakers by interacting with each faculty member within your region at least 6x year virtually or liveStrong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex information and analyses to a variety of scientific and non-scientific audiencesAnnual assessment of faculty size, including addition and removal of faculty members, ensuring Lilly has a diverse faculty to best meet the audiences’ needsRespond quickly to faculty inquiries by providing relevant informationResponsible for annual brand and compliance training of all speakers including: live trainings, virtual evening trainings and one-off trainings to ensure clinical aptitude and podium prowess of the faculty when delivering P2P educational and promotional contentPartner with Faculty Administration and Veeva Digital Engagements to run speaker compensation capacity, annual speaker contracting and any potential speaker violationsSupport cross-functional collaboration for thought leader engagement across Brand Teams, Payer, Medical, Global and Senior LeadershipRegularly attend key regional and national GI Congresses (10+ meetings per year) to assess opportunities and evolve the Lilly brand strategy; attend competitor presentations and provide ideas and resources to the brand teams; collect and deliver effective feedback to the Centralized Congress Team to improve future executionProvide support for brand sponsored Product Theater(s) and disease state education at CongressesCreate partnerships with state and national alliances within a defined region, including organized medical groups (OMGs) and health care organizations (HCOs)Assist GI Head Advisor to coordinate TL engagements with Lilly Brand and Senior Leadership attendees at national GI Congresses

Engagement and Brand Strategy Development (30%)

Capture insights and provide input into the brand teams to create positive customer experiences that compliantly differentiates Lilly from the competition in the P2P and Congress channels. Work with the brand teams to develop the P2P content and key messages elementsVirtually attend weekly meetings to provide feedback on marketplace developments, TL engagements, P2P implementation, and Congress executionSupport TL engagement and create request for services (RFSs) for any brand-related needs (e.g., videos, national sales meeting presentations, trainings, creation of resources, etc.)Creative Content Development: Help develop complementary and innovative P2P educational strategies and initiatives for compliant promotional education (modalities of P2P, invitations, digital Congress needs, P2P surveys, etc.) by collaborating with cross functional partners including brand teams, medical, advocacy, and payerSales Force: Develop vision for the sales force with P2P educational initiatives and ensure compliant execution of tactics; provide P2P/Congress updates on district calls when requested. Create sales meeting workshop content aligned with the sales vision and goals.Create and gain appropriate approval for internal and contracted faculty/advisors communications (FCAP)

Training/Operations Support (20%)

Complete clinical product and disease state trainingComplete all required marketing, thought leader engagement and advising Internal Training Plans (ITPs), including Smart Start training for new marketers and annual Red Book TrainingBecome proficient on important marketing internal systems including Centralized Payment System (CPS), Customer Program Portal (CPP) and Veeva Vault PromoMats (VVMP)Provide data analytics and tracking for districts on programming trends, budget allocation, and speaker utilization when requestedProvide communication to the sales force when necessaryMaintain relationship with agency/external vendor partner(s) along with day-to-day relationships with internal business partnersRisk Management: Responsible for understanding, implementing, and adhering to company policies, processes, and external obligations

Basic qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree7 years of industry experience (Gastroenterology strongly preferred)Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States.
