JOB TITLE: Senior Director Cap ital Strategy (Land Use Strategy) AGENCY: Construction & Development DEPT/DIV: Planning/ Capital Strategy REPORTS TO: Vice President Resilience & Sustainability Planning WORK LOCATION: 2 Broadway HOURS OF WORK: 8 : 3 0 AM to 5: 0 0 PM or as required (7.5HR/ DAY) HAY POINTS: 1142 SALARY RANGE: $ 142,005 to $ 184,77 8 DEADLINE: Open Until Filled Summary The Senior Director of Capital Strategy ( Land Use Strategy ) will oversee land use and neighb o rhood planning efforts that enhance transit access and utilization, as well as represent th e interests of MTA agencies in planning issues and process es . This position will require engagement with stakeh o lders across the MTA service region and the collaboration of partners in each MTA operating agency. The incumbent in this position must have the ability to develop a working knowledge of hundreds of MTA facilities and assets. Responsibilities Organize a strategic framework for MTA facilities across the region based on MTA needs , the surrounding land use context , and emerging land use trends in adjacent neighbo r hoods . Aggregate multiple data sources and engage with MTA colleagues to develop a strong knowledge base of the hundreds of MTA buildings, facilities and similar sites across the regio n . Create and deliver materials that effectively and persuasively communicate and frame ' 'MTA's strategic land use priorities with maps, images and data . Engage in local land use entitlement and environmental review processes where MTA is listed as an interested agency to identify appropriate comments that could support MTA and regional priorities . Support strategies that will improve ' 'MTA's ability to deliver long-term capital plans and transit operations , main ly related to facilities and land use . Lead and coordinate neighborhood planning initiatives, such as ' 'MTA's First Mile Last Mile , and cultivate new partnerships that demonstrably improve access to and utilization of transit . Work across MTA agencies , MTA Real Estate, and within C & ''D's Capital Planning, Regional Planning, and Transit Oriented Development teams to develop viable strategies and realistic land use objectives . Lead planning studies and processes , including multiple in-house efforts and lim ited consultant engagements . E ngag e with multiple constituencies , diverse stakeholders and political representatives. Cultivate close working relationships with local muni ci pal partners. Build strong working relationships and collaborat ion s across C&D and the MTA family . Select, develop, and manag e direct and indirect reports, including coaching and counseling subordinates. Education and Experience Bachelor's or Master ' s degree in Transportation, Urban Planning, Business, Public Policy, Economics, or a related field. Must have a minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in Transportation Planning, Infrastructure, Finance, Planning, or a related field . Must have a minimum of eight (8) years of managerial experience. A Master's degree is preferred. Competencies: Excellent organizational, written, oral and presentation skills. Demonstrated proficiency in analytical applications . Proficiency with GIS, Illustrator, and large database systems.
