COMPENSATION
(Min.) $102,033 - (Max) $161,278 / Grade B
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for the Department of Subways (DOS) emergency management policy and strategy, including the development of a long-term, sustainable DOS Emergency Preparedness program. The incumbent will be responsible for assessing potential hazards, developing, and implementing a preparedness planning process. This includes the development and maintenance of DOS emergency response plans such as the Hurricane Plan, Winter Operations Plan, Heat Emergency Plan, blackout plan, heavy rain/flash flood plan, and other disruptive event guides. The position is responsible for educating staff and leadership on DOS response plans through, exercises and training, and evaluating procedural plans and real-world responses. This position is responsible for auditing DOS Divisions on preparedness levels, processes, and plans. The incumbent is responsible for management of the DOS Incident Command Center and the Executive Command Center during major storms and other disruptive events. The incumbent is also responsible for leading, coordinating, and supporting initiatives across DOS in collaboration with MTA HQ, and city agencies related to DOS resiliency and preparedness. The incumbent will serve as DOS liaison for NYCT/MTA/Citywide emergency response planning and must stay current in city-wide emergency response and preparedness planning.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A Baccalaureate degree in Public Administration, Economics, Computer Science, Marketing, Engineering, or a satisfactory equivalent.
Seven (7) years of full-time experience, of which four (4) years must have been in a managerial/supervisory capacity are preferred
