Responsibilities:
This position is the Senior Director, Ethics and Compliance supporting the newly created India Hub that is composed of the Indian Affiliate situated in Gurgaon Delhi, the Lilly Capabilities Center India (LCCI) sites. This position reports to the Associate Vice President-Ethics and Compliance responsible for leadership of the Ethics and Compliance organization in Europe, META, Ibu Central, India & the alliance. This position sits on the Lead team for the newly generated One India Hub and the India Affiliate (based in Gurgaon) and is responsible for implementation of Lilly’s ethics and compliance program within the Region. Specifically, this position understands the key strategic initiatives of both the Affiliate and Capabilities centers supported, makes risk determinations and mitigation plans to ensure that programs and practices implemented comply with the company’s standards and ultimately the laws and regulations in which Lilly operates. Reporting into this role will be small sized team of E&C colleagues across sites in India.
Purpose - Provide Ethics and Compliance leadership and guidance to Lilly business leaders within the scope of responsibilities. The scope of the role is focused on enabling organizational adherence to The Red Book, Lilly’s Code of Conduct, as well as all applicable laws, regulations, and industry codes of conduct as reflected in policies and procedures. Accountability – The business lead will take responsibility for how the business is supported globally from an Ethics and Compliance perspective, ensuring that affiliate personnel understand nuances of global business to build effective controls locally in affiliates. Collaboration – This role requires extensive collaboration skills including coordinating with other risk functions for holistic analysis of programs, coordination with other Ethics and Compliance professionals Internationally to build controls and monitoring programs for the initiatives supported by the affiliates, and coordinating with operational ethics and compliance professionals in order to ensure that controls are in line with company standards. Team Leadership and people development– Attract, retain, and develop top talent into the E&C organization, further support our people in their continued development to position themselves to compete for roles of increased responsibility and complexity. Team Culture - Ensure an open and inclusive environment that promotes teamwork, open communication, and collaborative interactions among team members. External Engagement – Provides representation for Lilly with specific external industry Ethics and Compliance peer-groups and organizations in alignment with Ethics and Compliance external engagement strategy. Governance - Work with affiliate and business area leadership to ensure the key elements of an effective ethics compliance program are built into local governance and decision-making forums, business and operational processes, and training and employee development. Develop a strong understanding of the business environments, plans, and strategies, and then help colleagues and business partners to understand, account for, and mitigate risks in business practices through consulting and delivering expert advice on Ethics and Compliance questions and issues. Assess compliance communications and training needs for the businesses supported to effectively support ethics and compliance program needs and organizational change management goals and objectives. Conduct regular E&C risk assessment of business practices and work with leaders to put in place appropriate responsive actions. Design and execute monitoring plans for the businesses to address identified and prioritized risk areas. Consult on investigations with ethics and compliance implications and always collaborate with HR on speak up and investigations. Drive application of effective corrective and preventive action plans responsive to monitoring and investigation findings. Deliver meaningful insight to affiliate leadership derived from monitoring and other activities. Provide input into development of corporate compliance policies and procedures that reflect the needs of the business supported. Lead a team of E&C professionals to support the affiliate and capability centers on the effective implementation of risk management and Lilly’s compliance program (talent scouting, onboarding, coaching and development) Leverage E&C data analytics and tools for insights to ensure timely and effective risk management.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with minimum total experience of 15+ years Advanced degree or relevant experience preferred (e.g., J.D, C.P.A) Demonstrated history of operating with integrity i.e., no known or documented compliance violations in the past 12 months. 5 Years of ethics and compliance, legal, finance or other relevant experience Experience of working in any role in healthcare industry preferably pharmaceutical sector is required Experience of managing teams directly or/and experience of working in matrix environments There will be some amount of travel within India sites and within other Lilly sites basis job requirements.Additional Skills/Preferences:
